There are not enough words to express or enough space on this page to post all the kind words I could say about the staff! My daughter just started about two months ago and had some trouble adjusting to being away from home but the staff has been AMAZING with helping her feel welcome and comfortable! The staff goes above and beyond and has always been great about communicating with me, etc. The facility is very clean and well kept and inviting, I absolutely love the peaceful feeling I have dropping her off at a clean, safe place with an incredible staff taking care of her! Special shout out to Miss Vicki and Miss Kelce, you guys are superheroes!! Thank you Mini-World Staff for everything!
I could write a book about my experiences here, but they all go hand in hand with the others. It's been a while, but Vicki, the director, was awful. I witnessed a couple kids (not mine) being yelled at for giggling by a younger afternoon teacher. I started getting calls all of a sudden a few months in telling me to pick my son up immediately (the calls started right after a particular kid started in his class who I witnessed hitting the teacher). It became a regular thing a couple times a week for about 3 weeks.. my son knew all he had to do was cry for a while and they would call me. I received zero calls for a week and he was apparently doing great in a new class. Then the next week, on his first day there, she calls me less than 2 hours in. My son had cried (was having a fit according to director) and the teacher had no idea I was even contacted and said she was surprised because "it lasted like 2 minutes and was really nothing... i had no idea she called you over that." I had arrived in under 20 min and my son was quietly watching a movie with his class. Vicki let me know that my son wasn't welcome back. They charged me for that week AND the next based on a "2 week notice policy" after THEY kicked him out with no notice. Took me to court for $1000 nearly 2 years later and tacked on interest, fees, etc... for less than 2 hours of care and after jeopardizing my income. Also worth noting the rude responses to negative reviews, especially "random" ones without a story... but the random 5 star reviews are fine lol. Despite the names of some being associated directly with the facility.
I am still appalled by the lack of professional behavior by this center. My daughter lasted only 8 days at this location. The first week was one incident. We addressed it together with the director and moved on. The next week (was only there three days of that week not a full 5) I communicated to the center staff I was going to be leaving for a work trip and a family member would be picking up my child. I was called while out of town and asked to pick up my daughter immediately. I was asked to pick her up because she would not nap and began kicking chairs. I understood and reminded them I was out of town for work. I would however contact someone to come get her as soon as possible. This was about 2:00PM. I was able to get a pick up arranged and my child was to be picked up an hour and a half later. When I called the center back to inform them of this they told me "Since I was unable to accommodate their request to consider this my childs last day" I admit I was taken aback, but I did not try to argue with the staff member who was only being the middle man between the director and I. I picked my child up from the center and we have never looked back!! Since my child was only there 7 days (not the two weeks they claim) I stopped the payment on the check I had wrote them for registration and tuition. I will pay for the days my child was at the center but I will not pay additional fees when she wasn't even there 2 weeks. They did sent me a letter demanding payment. The only "decent" thing they did was "waive" the registration fee but they made that back up by saying my child was there two weeks. I remember this awful experience very well and cannot believe the level of unprofessional behavior and blatant lack of care for these poor children. I should have listened to friends when they warned me of bad reviews, but I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. The facility is tidy and well kept, however the negative experience here in such a short amount of time is extremely concerning. I felt compelled to share my story here to prevent any other parent from going through a similar situation.
My husband and I went to this facility to do a tour because we are coming out of homecare into daycare. I explained to the lady on the phone this is not an easy change for us. She was very nice and understanding. As my husband and I arrive we proceed to get our son out of the car. A lady comes out with a child and walks towards our car. I politely say hi and inform her we were here for a tour. She then says “ oh, they told me this was your child”. My husband and I just stared at her and she then walks back into the building. We immediately agree this is not the place for us. I called to inform the administrator what had happened and was told he wasn’t there and could call back in the morning. I am not trying to get anyone in trouble, I understand mistakes can happen, but that is a rather huge mistake. I hope they correct some issues and improve in the future but we will not be using this facility for our childcare.
Do not recommend. The director, Vicki, doesn’t care about the kids and their feelings, it’s just a business to her. My child had just spent a week at his biological mother’s house and was dropped off at daycare Monday morning with a horribly bruised and scratched face. (Something we had heard nothing about and had never happened before) Not only did the daycare not call to inform us, but when we took him to the dr and the dr’s office reported it to CPS... the CPS caseworker dropped by the daycare the next day to check on our son and visualize his injuries..... Vicki met with us later that week and told us that our kids were no longer welcome at the school because it was “too much drama”. My 2 kids did absolutely nothing wrong and they got punished. They had made great friends there. Find a daycare that actually cares about your kids well-being.
