I wish I would have taken more pics before they tore everything down. Went to A school there in 1981. Since most of us were single young Marines, one of the instructors and his wife were so gracious and hosted us for thanksgiving and it was so great to feel a little home feeling when you were so far away from yours. We also had a blast playing flag football in front of the barracks but it looks like that was torn down as well... Good memories, a great group of guys as well before we all graduated and hit the fleet...
Wow, I can't believe they tore so much of the facility down. I went to school here (AE) in 1983-84 in the Marines. This base was hopping back then with so many people coming through for aviation training. Lots of good memories here, wish I had taken pics.
78-79 AE 'A' School used what I learned for the rest of a varied career.
I went to school here for AX, Antisubmarine Warfare Technician in 1984-85. I have used those skills ever since. Thank you US Navy.
