What Parents Say
Messiah Christian Academy receives mostly positive reviews praising the caring, experienced teachers and family-like atmosphere, though some parents have expressed concerns about lice policy enforcement and lack of transparency. The school is noted for positive discipline, encouragement, and solid academics. A few parents recommend researching staff turnover and curriculum before enrolling.
Disappointed with Lice Policy & Lack of Transparency I am extremely disappointed with how school, Messiah Academy handles lice issues. They claim to have a "no-nit" policy, but in reality, they do not enforce it. Parents are led to believe that the school thoroughly checks and ensures lice-free environments, but that is simply not the case. Instead of properly addressing the issue, the school seems more focused on gaslighting concerned parents. If you bring up concerns, they downplay the problem or make it seem like you're overreacting. Meanwhile, kids continue to come to school with lice, and the cycle never truly ends. If the school is going to advertise a strict lice policy, they need to actually follow through with it. Transparency and honesty with parents should be a priority—especially when it comes to the health and well-being of children. Until they fix this, I cannot recommend this school to any family that values clear communication and proper hygiene standards.
My boys went here from pre-k to 2nd grade. I thought the school was the best for my children. I only wish it would have gone past 2nd grade. Idk what the other person is talking about with lice. Lice is at every school and you have to check your own child’s head. And, tell your child to stop hugging other kids because that’s how it jumps. It doesn’t jump 2 feet from chair to chair. Your child can also get it from extra curricular activities. It has NOTHING to do with hygiene. My boys haven’t had lice because their hair is kept super short and I doubt they are hugging girls yet. We have an older daughter that got it 3 times. She has very thick hair and was always a hugger. Over the counter products do not work. You have to call a professional that 100% guarantees to get all the live and nits. I hate to break it to you, but lice is here to stay and it’s not a hygiene issue. Anyway, this school was an integral part of my boys’ lives. The teachers were amazing and the parents were pretty chill then too.
Can't say enough positives about this preschool. Loving experienced teachers who believe in giving your child positive discipline and lots of encouragement and a solid education. The staff treats you like family and you can easily communicate with your child's teacher.
We are absolutely happy with MCA! They care and love on our children! We love MCA so much that we are praying for a first grade option, and it's hopefully happening for the year 2022-2023 thanks to the grace of God. I had my son on another BIG church preschool and had a bad experience, but then found MCA and I'm so blessed to feel the peace I have to know my children are going to the best place I could find. God sent! Best director Kristen and teachers!
Please when considering the correct "fit" for your child. Do your research. As a parent and a teacher; I encourage you to do your "homework " please remember to watch "turn over" in staff and ask about curriculum.
