Mesa Community College Children'S Center

This is my first semester here. I currently work between 30-35 hours a week. I currently taking 3 in person classes & 1 online class. I was super nervous & had a lot of anxiety. The staff & students are really nice & redirect you if you have any questions or concerns. This my third 3 week here. The first week I was overwhelmed because I was trying to understand everything. Now it is my 3rd week here, I feel perfectly fine & comfortable. Just thought I’d share my experience. The professor’s are really great & informative.

I regret going to this school. I was forced to drop a class due to the death of a close family member, and my SAP appeal was denied with no compassion or flexibility. During this same period, I was experiencing homelessness and severe financial hardship, which the school completely disregarded. The administration is incompetent and disorganized—my personal high school transcript has been “missing” for six months. I have followed up at least six times through emails and calls and have been completely ignored with no response. Being ghosted by administration while dealing with major life crises is unacceptable. This school lacks empathy, accountability, and basic administrative competence. I would strongly advise prospective students to look elsewhere. There was a professor sexually harassing students and guess what? He still teaches there.

My sister completed the nursing program before me. She would come home and we would talk about her experiences within the program and how it would relate to real patient care. I was a CNA at the time and later decided to apply to the program. I was accepted to the CEP program, which means I can simultaneously pursue another degree while working towards my RN associates. I am currently working on my MSN through GCU which MCC allows students to work towards at a discounted rate. I have obtained a job as a new grad RN at a rural hospital and have been able to apply evidenced-based care within my practice. I learned a LOT during my schooling with MCC and enjoyed all the faculty. The faculty brough many enlightening experiences, perspectives, and insight as to how they safely delivery high quality patient care. I would recommend this program to any prospective nurse considering entering into this wonderful field. The staff have many ways to setup students for success you just need to be okay with asking for help and you will be guided to the right resource. I am glad to say that I am a MCC Alumni and have attained more knowledgeable colleagues.

I cannot speak for their program efficacy, but whoever is working in admissions and transcript processing doesn’t appear to work efficiently enough to ensure that students will have paperwork processed in less than six months; absolutely ludicrous! How do you folks do business this way?

They made me wait until December to be classified for residency. They can clearly see I am enrolled as a resident at other colleges as well as Asu but they are money hungry and pulled me along always requesting new material or something else like please.
