I've been attending Mercy Meal Distributions every Wednesday for the past few months. They have showed me so much love words can't explain. All the food and beverages are fresh and high quality, with bonus tasty treats. I've even received feminine hygiene products as well. I attended one of their community events and qualified for a free cell phone for a year, as well job resources and men clothing. Since walking through Mercy doors I have met some wonderful human beings. It warms my heart to know a organization and people like this exist in our neighborhood. I've had the pleasure of meeting two superstars at this establishment but they're more like angels to me. Their names are: Halima Tavares and Shereda Cromwell (i hope I'm spelling their names right). Halima is firm yet gentle. I have no idea what time she gets there everyday but I pull up at 6:30am to wait in line and I can tell she's been working much longer when I peep in. She really cares about the community. She gets us (her line of 10 or more people) all right with hand sanitizer, and all the information and resources we could ever need. She is always professional and fair which I appreciate. She wants to make sure we all leave with goodies. One day she introduced me to Shereda when i inquired to her about a need for women clothing, as I am currently unemployed. These ladies literally gave me the clothes off their backs. Okay maybe not right then and there but I received huge bags of clothes on two occasions, most with tags still attached. Oh and two winter coats too. I know they didn't get paid for that. They did it out the kindness of their hearts. They legit went home off the clock with me in mind, sorting, folding and sealing clothes up for little old me. Okay maybe not "little" as I am 6' tall and 250+ lbs but somehow they found clothes that fit me perfectly. I don't know what I did to deserve their kindness but I am forever grateful! Seeing them both today as they gave me essentials, I couldn't hold back the tears. Mercy Neighborhood Ministries I cannot express to you how caring, thoughtful, patient, nurturing and protective your team is. They really do brighten ones day. One day I took a peek in the computer lab and the most friendly young man was eager to help me, I wish I remembered his name. Hopefully, I'll see him again after the holidays because I definitely need computer help. All in all, I will recommend Mercy Neighborhood Ministries of Philadelphia to anyone who will listen. Kids, adults, seniors everyone should know about this place. Even pets lol. There's one person who works there I don't know their name but they're so sweet to this little grey cat named Charcoal who sits outside Mercy. This place is the embodiment of the phrase kindness is free! A hallmark to our community!
