Wonderful school! My daughter is about start her 3rd year of grade school here and I have been very pleased. The school not only provides a great education, but also operates on Christian values and encourages the children to do the same. They don't cram religion down the students' throats, but they are sure of what they believe and don't waiver. The administration shows faith by works. The student body is diverse and there is no elitism. To find a few of these qualities in any one school is not hard, but to find them all is an absolute blessing!!
Memorial Lutheran School is an warm and welcoming environment where students are challenged and nurtured at every level. It is a school that is set up to create future leaders, as there is a heavy emphasis on learning how to communicate! Early grade school students spend a healthy amount of time learning grammar, and the middle school children are involved in writing meaningful assignments, debating each other, and reading at a higher level on a weekly basis. The Latin curriculum compliments the emphasis on communication, as students come away with an even greater understanding of language through this subject. This years advanced Latin class had a great time reading the Latin edition of the Hobbit, and the debate team did a fantastic job at their tournaments. Memorial is not only a place for nourishing academic young minds, it is also wonderful place where children at any level can participate in the growing sports program, and excel in music (especially strings) to a far greater level than one could do at most other schools in the Houston area!
Everyone we have worked with at Memorial Lutheran School has been extremely kind and welcoming! Very accommodating and eager to help. The grounds are beautiful and you can tell the students are very well taken care of! We highly recommend a visit/tour!
This church reads from the Bible and studies the word. The sheep here are following Jesus Christ. They pray to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. I read a comment about the children here being future leaders and I totally agree with that.
