What Parents Say
McBurney YMCA is praised as a well-maintained facility with excellent amenities including a clean pool, spacious gym, and friendly staff. Parents appreciate the welcoming atmosphere, reasonable pricing compared to competitors, and convenient location with nearby public transportation. The facility offers various activities and programs in a community-oriented environment.
A lovely place that truly feels like home. The atmosphere is warm, calm, and very well organized, which makes both kids and parents feel comfortable. My children really enjoy their classes here, especially swimming and boxing. The instructors are great, and the overall environment is positive and supportive. Highly recommended for families looking for a welcoming and enjoyable activity center for kids.
I love this gym. A plus gym, pool, front desk, a hidden gem in the sea of corporate equinox surfers. YAY we are original and we are happily fit. Nobody is trying to be anything here that they are not. Which makes them stars in my book.
Dirty Gym, Incompetent Staff, Avoid McBurney YMCA! This gym is terrible, the Administrative staff are very unprofessional, and the gym is not clean! Homeless people slept in the lounge area during the summer! There are better gyms, with better hours, professional staff, kids vomiting in the pool, lifeguards that know how to behave professionally with members. McBurney YMCA has gone downhill, but feel justified in raising their rates for a dirty, unsanitary gym! This used to be a nice gym, how the health department allow this gym to operate with a dirty pool, unsanitary showers, locker room with hair on the floor is astonishing!
The locker rooms are always spotless, the pool is crystal clear, and the staff are so friendly. It honestly feels more like a resort than a gym. I love coming here!
I would not support this Y, I work at a high school that brings students here and the service and care for customers, youth, and people are terrible. Try a different Y institution, maybe that will feel more communal and neighborhood friendly. Added that they have the nerve to have a Black Lives Matter sign up but when I spoke to the people in management there is no care/respect for the racial profiling and mistreatment I experienced by the front desk woman on thursdays.
