What Parents Say
Marguerite's Place is a center-based daycare in Nashua, NH with consistently positive feedback about caring and friendly staff who support child development. However, one parent reported serious concerns about administrative handling of a custody situation, including a trespass order, refusal to release children, and sudden termination of enrollment without notice.
I stayed here when my son was very young and it was strictly run and decent. I didn’t necessarily agree with all of their policies in terms of what they charged and expected of someone. Nonetheless I followed the rules and was there for over a year until I could go out on my own. Fast forward 10+ years and the place has gone down badly. They aren’t as strict as they were, but at this point I don’t thing the mission is to help women anymore. They have a time limit to how long you can stay, they do not keep up with the building or its furnishings. They have the same used (now mostly broken and rundown) furniture and appliances as they did over a decade ago. I have a young family member I recommended her to go here with her young child, and seeing the living situation that it is now saddens me. Serious mouse infestation - so if you are homeless please just be aware if you have health issues. Even the child care isn’t what it used to be, there is not a structure curriculum - seems to be just babysitters.
A rewarding experience volunteering at Marguerite's Place. Warm, supportive staff and a clear impact on our community. Flexible hours and enriching personal growth. Highly recommended.
I can not say enough about Marguerite's Place. I've seen this organization work first hand for the better part of a decade. Both volunteering for and donating to this organization has made me a better person. To see how much their mission means to the staff is something special. It's more than just a job to them. And to hear some of the young women who have been clients success stories over the years has brought a tear to my eye on many occasions. I look forward to hearing many more of these stories in the future and I wouldn't hesitate to send a member of my own family to get help from Marguerite's Place. It is truly a special organization.
This entire establishment is infested with mice, down to the day care. My son developed Asthma and respiratory issues all while being in there & the doctors note I gave to the women in charge couldn’t care less about it. These women are NOT there to help you, they are there to get paid and go home. I have had some of their own staff members tell me they would NEVER live in the establishment themselves nor have their kids there. Attempting to speak up for you and the well being of your child will you get kicked out of the program as that is what happened to me. I became a threat once I started getting the city involved so they found it easiest to exit me and my child from the program in the middle of the day with no notice & also knowing we had no where else to go at the time. They are moving helpless mothers and children into their disgusting mouse infested apartments and telling us “it’s better than nothing” all while our kids are enduring deadly health/respiratory issues. Not to mention the severe ptsd I left with after. This place is not worth your child’s health or even your mental health! These women had no sympathy for what I experienced in their program & it has literally scarred me for life. I write this in hopes that this helps someone & saves them their time before having to endure what me and my baby did. I have also attached a few pics from the first day I moved in . Not only did they NEVER mention the infestation, they allowed me and my child to move in with all the mice poop shown in the pics. It was in the stove as well which I was cooking on for days before I realized. I wish I could upload the videos I took, 4-5 mice at a time EVERYNIGHT running around. It was completely sickening. I pray for those involved who are staying quiet with fear of being put on the street w their child. I pray that this establishment changes and they decide to do what’s right.
I give 4 stars only for the teachers. Ive had kids at Marguerites for 3 years. The teachers have always done well with both of my kids and I feel my kids have developed well going to Marguerite's daycare center. However.. the childcare director and new executive director .. dont get a kind rating. Just recently they placed a no tres pass order on the father of my children and their explanation was he had "a little bit of agitation in his voice".. then when he emailed them the same day they got the order to understand what it was he did to rectify... they ignored him!!! They ended up claiming teachers were in fear for their PHYSICAL SAFETY because he had agitation in his voice a couple of times and wouldnt express to me what exactly happened.. they said they were "leaving it on the table" as is.. then.. tried forcing me to make him have a third party pick up our children when he was going to be picking them up.. then.. expressed they would not be bringing the children out to him and he had to come pick up his children with the police for pickup or drop off because they werent going to do it anymore. Then... he scheduled a time with them to pick up the kids and they HELD OUR CHILDREN in the building and REFUSED to give him his children and stated he needed to wait! And when he got upset.. they stated how scared they were of him. WHO IN their right mind wouldnt be absolutely pissed off when a childcare center is REFUSING YOU your children!!?? Then... at the end of the day when I go to pick up my children they let me know the children will no longer be able to go to the center.. how awesome to give me ZERO notice and at the end of the day at the end of the week when I cannot get childcare elsewhere. Absolutely disgusting.
