I have been a member of Maitland Presbyterian Church since 1980. I met and married my wife here and have served in a wide variety of ministries inside this church. Currently, I serve as a Stephen Minister and a Musician/Vocalist in the Contemporary Praise Band. We have been blessed with several great Pastors here in the 45+ years I have been a member. Our Co-Pastors were members of our youth group many years ago and God has brought them home again full circle. We have just celebrated their 10th Anniversary here as pastors. We are proud to Love Like Jesus in many ways actively in our neighborhood and are always happy to meet and serve new members. We have our Contemporary Service at 9:30am and the Traditional Service at 11:00am. We are always ready to meet and welcome new friends.
FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH MAITLAND This congregation was organized in 1882 by ten Presbyterian settlers under the direction of the Rev W C. F Wallace when Maitland was a pioneer hamlet The church building was constructed in 1883 and it is one of the oldest churches still in use in inis area. The church is a typical example o the pioneer ecclesiastical architecture of its period
I play with an orchestra that rehearses and performs at the church. The church has a lovely atmosphere and nice services too. We play at these services occasionally, and they are just lovely with inspirational ministers. If you're a christian person and looking for a nice church, this is it.
I went to their Traditional Service and enjoyed it for the most part. Their were only senior citizens through. I hope to check out their earlier service on another Sunday. The people were very friendly too. They have an outside area for kids to play and I watched a short clip of Children’s Ministry. They will also start back doing Bible Study. Now the downside is that they do not have a mixed congregation. It didn’t show in the service nor in the clip. Hopefully that, will soon change.
Friendly people, beautiful church, and they just started 8 weeks of FREE BRIDGE LESSONS. Saturdays beginners at 10 am and intermediate at 11:15. Beginners need to reimburse the instructor for the required book $10. Intermediates can purchase "2 over 1 Game Force" by Grant and Rodwell. optional and not available from the instructor.
