Madison Cooperative Nursery School

We have loved our experience at the Madison Co-op for our child. He is often slow to warm up to new experiences but the inclusive atmosphere, caring teachers, and tight-knit community helped him feel comfortable right away. We love the play-based learning, lots of time outdoors, and the opportunity for us to be involved with the occasional volunteering in his class. We also have our youngest in the Mommy and Me program and she will be attending the school once she is of age!

We absolutely adore Madison Co-op for its play-based learning approach, its incredible team of dedicated teachers, and the warm, welcoming community. Being part of the school has been an incredibly special experience for our family, and it has been the perfect place to start our child’s educational journey. Prior to enrolling in the Co-op, our child was in daycare due to work obligations, but we soon realized that it wasn’t the best fit for our family. After much research, we found that the Co-op's approach was exactly what we were looking for. The ability to be involved in our child’s education through regular classroom visits and participation has been invaluable. The Co-op has truly offered us a hands-on experience that allows us to support our child's growth in a meaningful way. We are grateful to be part of this wonderful community and are confident that our child is thriving in such a nurturing, enriching environment. It's a decision we are so thankful we made!

My daughter adjusted surprisingly well to the co-op. I assume it’s because of the small class sizes allowing students to have direct one-on-one learning. In addition to this, the daily routines and group learning activities boosted my daughter’s engagement and excitement about school. I was so impressed the first time I visited the classroom because the children were so prepared for every step of their day. All-in-all great set-up for little ones to acclimate to a school setting and a really awesome way to become more engaged with the Madison community and your child’s budding social circle.

my family loves the madison co-op! our older child (now a rising 5th grader) attended and now our 3yo is there. the director and teachers are lovely and provide such a warm, nurturing environment. but the thing that truly sets the co-op apart is the chance to participate in the school. I love meeting all of my child's school friends, and I love that my child gets to know their friends' families. fostering a sense of community is simply part of the DNA of the co-op experience.

We made a cross-country move from CA in the middle of our son's 4's year and were sure that we wouldn't be able to recreate the community feel of our Bay Area co-op preschool. We were wrong. Before we even landed in NJ, we'd heard from the director, our teachers and many parents with warm welcomes, offers of help, local tips and even birthday party invites. Our son acclimated on day 1 and didn't miss a beat "academically" or otherwise. Great mix of play, art, science, manipulatives and letters learning. We'll be so happy to stay in this community as our younger kids start their school years at the Madison co-op.
