The “Throwing under the bus” technique. The facility is clean. They have all the equipment anyone would ever need. "Most" of the staff goes above and beyond to be friendly and helpful. I used to go everyday for 7 years. The Y was my safe haven and a great place to meet some folks and get in shape. As far as programs I guess they were ok. I only attended spin classes and that was my demise when they BANNED ME, a 72 year old male just trying to keep it together for a few more years, and kicked me out for criticizing a trainer in a text message to her...and only her...I would never go over her head to complain to her boss and get her in trouble. However...this "trainer", who I had paid for personal training sessions, and I use the term trainer lightly, ran to her boss, the director, and whined that I had criticized her. Whaaa!!! Oh the horror!! And then they unleashed the demons of hell on me. Long story short...1. I signed up and paid for 9 one-on-one training sessions with this trainer. 2. It took her 5 months to complete 6 sloppy half-baked sessions. I felt she was lacadaisical and uncommitted to our agreement. 3. I complained to her about it. 4. She turned me in for "complaining in a text. 5. They KICKED ME OUT and ghosted me. Not a soul would speak to me..not the trainer, not the director, and they sent out an organizational note saying I was not to be spoken to. I’m 72 and such a threat to them!! Once this blonde “trainer” scheduled a session for Thursday morning. She texted me Wednesday night and canceled. Something important came up. I went to the Y anyway and she was there dog paddling in the pool. Ummm…err???? Correction: At one point the director told me I could keep my membership, but I was not allowed to speak to this trainer. I agreed, however I had a mountain of questions and thoughts for this trainer. I needed to communicate with the trainer or my head would explode! so I wrote a note expressing my thoughts and feelings. And handed it to her. I should have known that she would go running to her boss, which she did. Then I was tossed out! Lesson learned. The psychological effects of being ghosted are cruel and abusive. This technique should never be used on another human. Two years later, 1000 miles away, that company wide ghosting still haunts me. The director should have let the trainer and myself have a 20 minute conversation with the director sitting in as intermediary. The whole issue could have been solved in 20 minutes. I still dream of receiving an apology from the trainer!! (Dream on. She’s an “all about me, me, ME person.) So...nice place to work out, but....management is dictatorial and the trainers aren't qualified to train a hamster. After note: It's been 3 years since my experience with McColl YMCA. I go to the Y in North Carolina these days almost every day. I work out. I follow an online trainer who is amazing. The best part is this trainer is not a friend, but a sincere dedicated trainer that I don't even know beyond the training. I speak to no one. I make no friends or workout buddies. I do not attend group workout classes. I live alone in a condo in the country. Solitude. I do not trust "people" "HELL IS OTHER PEOPLE." ~ Jean Paul Sartre
I would like to share my experience with Magic Mind Academy and its director, Nicole Batalon. Unfortunately, it has been almost impossible to reach her. We were told that the only way to contact her is by email, but she is rarely responsive and often unavailable, mentioning that she is on vacation. Several families in our Lincoln neighborhood—including four families total—have tried to get basic information or details, but none of us received clear or timely responses. This daycare is very close to our neighborhood, which initially made it appealing. However, the lack of communication and follow-up made the process extremely frustrating. I don’t understand how potential families can be ignored when this is a service-based business. Due to the poor communication and unresponsiveness, we have decided to move forward with another daycare.
I was a member for a month, only using the gym. Parking is sometimes a problem. Housekeeping was always an issue, even after I brought it to the attention of staff members twice. Back to Planet Fitness
So the staff does not know what’s going on I called in the morning for the basketball court to be open and the staff said It’s open until 5 on Sunday then when I went in, went to go play basketball, not even like a minute it was closing because something was going on. Nobody don’t know what’s going on. can’t even use the basketball court never I wasted my time prepare to play basketball and disrespectful staff and managers they have no respect and attitude when I ask if there was volleyball on Tuesday and the manager gave me a attitude and sassy.
The summer camp is awful! Run by a bunch of college kids who are oblivious to what's going on with the kids! For 3 weeks I complained that my child was being bullied by multiple children and nothing was done! For 3 weeks my child cried and begged me not to send them and would call me multiple times thru out the day to pick them up! It was heartbreaking! I didn't even bother to make my child go the last week! Summer camp is supposed to be a fun and safe experience!
