Lyric Pre-School & Kindergarten

Lyric Preschool is truly a local gem. It’s one of the most diverse and inclusive preschools in the Silver Lake–Los Feliz area. When my daughter was just 9 months old, we toured many preschools, but Lyric immediately stood out for its genuine sense of belonging. As a mixed-race child, my daughter truly feels at home here. The owner and teachers are warm, professional, and deeply caring, creating an environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. She is learning so much—and having fun every single day. While the building may look modest from the outside, the school offers spacious outdoor play areas for both classes, plus a lovely garden space. And the kids’ themed parties are absolutely delightful—creative, joyful, and always keeping parents pleasantly surprised. We feel incredibly lucky to be part of the Lyric community. 💛

Lyric Preschool has been such a gift to our family. Both of my children started their early years here, and it has consistently felt like a warm blanket wrapped around them during the most formative stage of their lives. The environment is calm, caring, and deeply intentional, and you can feel the heart behind everything the team does. The Teddy Bears class was the perfect soft landing for each of my kids. The teachers are exceptionally skilled at helping little ones transition, especially in those first days when everything feels big and new. Their patience, warmth, and ability to meet each child exactly where they are made all the difference. The Sunshine class has been just as impactful. It’s a beautiful bridge to TK, blending structure and joy in a way that builds confidence and independence. One of the teachers has been at Lyric for over thirty years, and the rest have been there for a long time as well, which speaks volumes about the stability and soul of this school. My kids always came home excited, proud of what they learned, and full of stories about their teachers. Lyric is more than a preschool. It’s a nurturing, consistent, and truly special community that holds your children with so much care. We feel incredibly grateful to have been part of it.

My son went to Lyric Preschool for a year and he loved it, as did we. His teachers in the Teddy Bear class--Miss Kim, Ms. Mari, and Ms. Christina--were beyond wonderful. We could feel the love they held for the children and for their work. They helped him through potty training and napping difficulties. My son thrived there and loved the morning songs, stories they read, fun seasonal events (circus day was one of his favorites), and everyday artwork they made. We only switched him because we moved to San Francisco. We'll always remember my son's time at Lyric Preschool with great fondness.

Lyric Preschool has played a significant role in my daughter's social and emotional development. I cannot express enough how amazing the entire staff is. My daughter joined Lyric when she was 2 years old and she is now 4. They have separate classrooms for different age groups - the Teddy Bear class for ages 2-3 and the Sunshine class for ages 4-5. It's incredible to see how much my daughter has learned at Lyric. She can write her name and has a basic understanding of math, like adding 2+2. Each month, they explore various topics such as nature, music, and animals. Lyric has become like a second family to us. In fact, my middle child started attending in February this year, and we plan to send our third child there as well. We are truly grateful to have found Lyric when we did, and our family absolutely loves it.

We absolutely love our daughter's preschool. Over the last 5 months, Lyric has been a wonderful experience for her, and we couldn't be happier with the care and education she receives. Every day, she is excited and happy to be there, which is a testament to the fun and supportive environment the teachers create. The staff is always kind and attentive, and we appreciate the regular updates and pictures they send throughout the day. We also love the sense of community among the students and families who have invited us to birthday parties and weekend meetups in the park. We wholeheartedly recommend this preschool to any parents seeking a nurturing and welcoming environment for their little ones.
