Lynhill Child Development Center

My son has attended Lynhill for about 3 years. We absolutely love Lynhill, and it's leadership. Their director has a wealth of experience in childcare and genuinely cares about the growth and development of all children. Many of the staff have worked there for YEARS. I have never once experienced rudeness from the director, or any assistant director and they are available when I drop my child off, stop in during the day periodically, and pick him up. They DO allow you to pay monthly, weekly, bi-weekly, etc. or that has been my experience at least. My husband and I pay weekly - each Monday. Thank you to all the great teachers that work there! J, Sherry, April, Becca, Vivian - who is just so precious and dear to me, Ashley, Lindsey, and so many other teachers that I cannot name but have grown to love. You guys are amazing! Folks considering Lynhill - don't let this bad egg review below - which was probably driven by embarrassment for non-payment, lead you away from this great place. Give it a shot! Edited 7/9/18 after realizing there was a reply to this from another user making random accusations...... I would go under oath and repeat this......No one from the staff of Lynhill CDC asked me to write my above review. I did so, after reading your review and realizing what the issue that caused you to be asked to leave was....it was clearly money from your post. If you hadn't been told you couldn't leave your child for the day due to non-payment you would have not posted the review that you did.I figured rather than allow other users to think that this place was a terrible place to send your child (you insinuated that your child had behavior issues after being in their care for a month) I would counter your arguments and detail my experience.

I would never recommend this place to anybody! The director was barely there. The assistant director was extremely rude. They do not base weekly/monthly payment on income. There is total lack of communication which led to the assistant director turning us away one morning due to no payment after ONLY TWO WEEKS! Most places work with parents and actually have a set MONTHLY due date. I was taking classes and had to miss one of them that morning while I met my husband, who had to leave work, to watch our son because this! My son had major behavior problems after only one month of being there. This place needs to be investigated by the state and lacks basic cleanliness and looks run down. If I could rate this place without a star I would. Terrible!!! Lauren Style: My so called "bad egg" review comes from total lack of communication from the director and assistant director. Which I assume they told you to write a review. Bless your heart! Daycare costs a lot of money and this place wasn't worth it and there is no embarrassment there. My son was terrified of this daycare and I unfortunately had no other option while I was attending summer classes. The way that the children were playing and screaming at each other was heartbreaking sometimes. I picked up my son one afternoon and he was crying in a chair with his blanket and the caregiver was not comforting him whatsoever! I had told this to Watauga Children's Council, while looking for a new daycare for my son, and they told me that letting him cry in a chair like that was illegal! When my son started off in his new daycare it took him a few weeks for him to get adjusted. He cried every morning when I dropped him off and his first morning I sat with him for well over an hour. His new caregivers felt so bad for him and they really did well getting him to trust them. So, no Lauren. I am not "embarrassed" about payment issues or whatever you want to think. I am embarrassed for you to have to justify this daycare and their actions or lack thereof. This is supposed to be a safe and caring place for children to learn and grow and I wouldn't even send my dogs to it!!!
