This church is a welcoming, friendly and gospel-filled community. From the moment you enter, you can feel the warm atmosphere and welcoming spirit. Every week people get to hear about Jesus and it is such an uplifting place to worship!
Wonderful, friendly parishioners! Liturgical service, almost formal enough for me. Even the Monday-night worship. Never heard of a regular worship service on a weekday evening before! It's perfect for me, since I am busy elsewhere on Sunday mornings. Reception after services often, and with tasty food! Some attendees speak foreign languages. The parish nurse helps folks who lack transportation connect with parishioners who can help. Three or so times a year, there is a Common Ground series (usually 8 evening sessions), where doctrine, theology, and Bible are taught. The two pastors are quite approachable. The sermons are easy to understand. Those at the repast tables and the servers are very friendly. The deacons are very helpful and glad to answer questions.πππΈ
Went to a concert at this church. It was put on by church members and they have a rock 'n roll band. After the entertainment, the minister made a quick speech, and he seems very likeable. The food you all made was so delicious, especially the bok choy boats ! The church is large and has lots of meeting spaces and a nursery.
I have visited a few times and found those who worship not friendly, the focus is on the individuals themselves and not God. The music was not uplifting on Saturday except for the choir. I was also surprised by the choice of music there is no gospel hymns that either the choir or in congregation singing. I was told the church was diverse it is not. I was told that this church respects people of different races it does not. People of color rarely get to preach even though they are on the pastoral staff. Looking for family centered, and acceptance of all types of music than this is not the church for you.
This church is our home. We have been members for almost 11 years and we love it more with each passing year. The parishioners are the salt of the earth. The pastors are wonderful. Pastor Nick walked with us personally through one of the darkest seasons of our life and has become someone that I don't ever want to *not* know. Pastor Mark always starts his sermon with a comment meant to elicit chuckles - they're just good, real humans. The outreach is top notch - if there's something you need help with, there's a resource or a path to a resource. The programs are endless, geared toward every walk of life from the little ones to the elderly. The confirmation program has changed the lives of two of our children and I anticipate the same for our third. People smile. They greet you and welcome you. It's just a place of sanctuary. My middle daughter calls this church one of her safe places, and the joy and peace that this admission brings me is beyond words. Shouldn't we hope that church is a place of peace and comfort for our children?? It is for ours. We love our church. Our Jesus is here π€
