"Luna Park Daycare offers a caring and supportive environment for all their kids--babies to preschool. We have had our daughter at Luna Park since she was a baby. She is now in the preschool room with Ms. Jesy. The community that comes with going to Luna has kept us afloat as parents without family nearby to help out. We have cultivated friendships with neighborhood families that were easy to create and maintain. The teachers are knowledgeable, kind, and form strong bonds with the kids. The low-tech, play-focused curriculum really fosters creativity and independence. We have found Ms. Leah to be very responsive to any logistical issues that come up. We also watch our child be celebrated for who she is. This is not a cookie-cutter place. This is a place that gets to know your kid and helps them thrive. Starting at age 2--ish, when our daughter would do pretend play at home, she would pretend to call her teachers on her play phone. This illustrated to us as parents how much our daughter thinks about and likes her teachers. Luna Park has all the heart. We are so glad we chose Luna Park.
Our son started at Luna Park in February 2025 when he was two months old and we have been very happy with his care since day one. The teachers are so sweet and loving toward him and the administration is very communicative and fastidious about keeping all student records up to date. LP is your classic neighborhood daycare - paper daily reports, an older but meticulously well-kept building, and teachers who live in the neighborhood. The tuition is affordable for Chicago standards, the programming is great and the meals are varied and nutritious. The infant room teachers are vocal about how our son is doing day-to-day, when he's ready to try something new (i.e. sippy cups, etc), and they send home the cutest artwork. Although our son is just a year old and not speaking yet, his body language tells us how excited he is to get to school - He practically jumps into Ms. Jesy's arms everyday! I think the only reason we would leave LP is if we move.
My daughter has attended Luna Park for 3 years now, it is an excellent childcare center! You can tell the teachers really care and are invested in the development of each child, and the center has a very cheerful and positive vibe. I love what they have the kids doing during the day- arts and crafts, playing outside, stories, and songs. Their curriculum is very developmentally appropriate, play based, fun, and there are no screens. It's been a great social experience for my daughter as well, she enjoys going to see her friends and teachers!
My daughter has attended Luna Park for the last year, starting at 5 months. We have had the most positive experience and have appreciated the care that she has received. The owners, Ms. Leah and Ms. Kathy, as well as each and every staff member, are caring, kind, and clearly love their job. We are greeted every morning and afternoon with a smile. Things I love about Luna Park: 1. The staff! 2. They provide meals and snacks, and also gladly accept breastmilk 3. They also allowed us to keep using cloth diapers 4. Luna Park is old-school, low tech. The kids play with books, toys, and puzzles, and do crafts! 5. Communication is great 6. The babies go on walks in a giant stroller when it's nice outside. The big kids have two different outdoor play areas to explore. 7. Drop off and pick up is easy since there are places to park in front on Foster 8. The staff and families are representative of the North Park/Albany Park community 9. The cost is reasonable 10. There's a Starbucks at the end of the block :) I highly recommend Luna Park if you are looking for a daycare center for your baby or young child!
This is a long overdue review. My son attended Luna daycare for 2 years and when he first started, he absolutely loved the staff and his teachers. He adjusted very well. The amount of activities they do inside and outside on nice days always had my son with a smile on his face. Communication was very good with all staff. I loved seeing all of the kids artwork displayed when entering the daycare. You can truly see and feel how much time, effort and attention the teachers put into the kids. Ms. Jesy, you are an absolute angel!! Words can’t describe how great and caring of a teacher you were to Giannis. With being out of Luna for almost a year now, he still brings you up! Thank you for caring and treating my son with so much love.
