What Parents Say
Lowry Montessori receives mixed reviews with strong praise for classroom teachers and student happiness, but significant criticism regarding administrative staff and safety protocols. Parents report nurturing teachers and happy children, but express serious concerns about enrollment communication, food allergy handling, and responsiveness from administrative personnel.
I don't know why Mary Hahn refuses to be helpful in any sort of way. I'm sure the teachers here are nice but Mary Hahn is completely out of touch with the school and the enrolling process. She won't even tell you the price if you're paying with UPK. She just tells you that it's expensive and tries to be "helpful" by directing you to another school. Such a shame one person can ruin the whole school.
As soon as you tell Mary Hawn, the person who enrolls, that you aren't paying with CCAP you take a back seat to everyone else enrolling. I called three times and left messages with all the specific details she asks and did not hear back for 3 weeks. When Mary did return my call, she was rude and short with me and provided zero information. She said she was going on winter break and I would have to wait two weeks to know if a spot would be available for someone paying out of pocket, which does not take precedence. She basically said I would have to call a week before my preferred start date to find out if a spot was available. I wish I wouldn't have wasted my time.
The teachers at MHEL are nurturing and the Lowry admin has always been helpful and understanding. I picked this daycare in part because all of the kids looked happy and excited on the playground. This is a great daycare and I feel fortunate that we have them in our neighborhood.
My kid was there a total of 3 days before having one of the worst allergic reactions of her LIFE and I wasnt even there. They care more about paperwork and nutritional guidlines lines than something as simple as hey this kid could get really sick and stop breathing if I make them drink too much milk. They knew she had an intolerance/allergy I had several long meetings to try and prevent this. And they had it in writing. I honestly believe it Could have all been avoided if during orientation if wasnt forced to refill out forms I filled out at my pediactrics about providing my own milk because they wanted to avoid kids having an allergic reactions just like the one my kid had to go through just to be at lowry!!! But its ok after my kid almost stops breathing then I can bring my own milk after My child's doctor specifically tells them NO milk at all! Ive waited 6 bussiness days for a phone call from them saying that my kiddo can return to school even after a doctors note and they havent called me once. I wont get one either because they are waiting on state nutritional paperwork lowry never sent to her docotor. If you want good solid communication for how much effort her doctor and I have put in for every little tiny piece of paper they have demanded validation for my kid's food allergies this also isnt the school for you. I no longer trust this schools staff to do what they say they will do. Nor trust them with my kid safety. Beware it now makes sick the amount of effort I put in to getting my kiddo into to lowry and trying to keep her there.
Great teachers and very sweet to me, my babies and my family. My babies love the staff and never cry being dropped off. Thank you
