What Parents Say
Live Oak Head Start receives overwhelmingly positive reviews, with parents praising the staff's warmth, attentiveness, and ability to make children feel safe and cared for. The center is particularly noted for its exceptional support of children with special needs and food allergies. One parent reported communication and organizational issues, though the director responded positively to their concern.
My son is three years old, and this was his first year in Head Start. He has allergies to certain foods, and from day one they have worked closely with me to support all of his needs. I truly could not have asked for better support. From the front desk staff to Ms. Rosario, the entire team has been amazing. They always get back to me with any questions and stay on top of everything. I knew I needed to leave a review because this team has been such a blessing to our family.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Live Oak Head Start. My daughter, who is now four, attended when she was three. She has a level three autism diagnosis, and even before her diagnosis, her teachers and the front desk staff—especially Ms. Carmen—went above and beyond for her. They patiently sat with her, comforted her, and truly understood her needs. Every day, my daughter would run to her teachers and to Ms. Carmen with joy, which is something I will always be grateful for. Many schools and programs overlook children with special needs, but this program genuinely cared. They took the time to get to know my daughter, understand her, and support her in every way. I want to give them the recognition they truly deserve.
Very nice and friendly staff that does a really good job of making the kids feel safe and like family. If you're looking for a Head Start Center I'll highly recommend you give them a call.
Very unorganized and extremely poor communication from staff. Not educated on children with disabilities and unprofessional. They asked to me to lift my child’s shirt to show them her medical device out of curiosity, not necessity. Staff will lie to your face. Edited to add: Ms Coleman the director reached out to me to and she was kind and understanding.
They are so amazing with the kids and make everyone feel like family. I was weary about sending my little one off but she begs to go to school everyday. It's been a blessing to us!
