I can't say enough good things about Little Tots Academy! I was pleasantly surprised to see my son hugging Ms. Kathy goodbye at the end of the first day. He loved all the teachers, and really enjoyed the educational portion of the day. After just a month and a half of lessons, he learned to spell color words, learned his days of the week, and could recite about a dozen nursery rhymes. We're both sad we had to move away. Little Tots Academy is wonderful!
We used Little Tots Academy for 8 months after we moved into the city; between preK and Kindergarten. I was very happy with the personal touch and family environment of Little Tots. I never felt like we were using a daycare "factory". My daughter was even excited to take a nap again. The staff is very caring and laid back. My daughter also advanced a lot in her reading skills during this time. I would highly recommend it.
My son was 2.5yrs old when I had to put him in daycare. The first one (not LTA but another about a mile away) has kids from 6 weeks to 10yrs old and all he did was cry on his teacher's lap all day for a whole month, because he just didn't want to be there. You can say bad parenting because he didn't know those ladies and we just dropped him off one day. Thought he would be OK since his friend went there too, but nope. So for 2 or 3 weeks Ms. Lori would let us come to visit LTA after I got off work. She'd let my son play with the toys with no other kids there, sit and talk to me and then go chat with my son. She didn't have to stay longer, but she did to get him warmed up to the new place. My son absolutely loves this place. He is now 4.5yrs old. He was learning a little faster then some kids and gets bored and disrupts circle time. These wonderful ladies and Mr. B have so much patience and kindness that they will work with him and find different and harder learning activites to do with him before the learning day begins. He hugs every teacher good bye. We moved the next two boroughs over but still drive him to school every morning because this school/daycare is affordable and worth the amazing memories friends and respect for the adults my son has!
My experience with Little Tots Academy has been fantastic and would recommend to others. My son was there for a year he loved all his teachers especially Ms Kathy and Ms Lori.
