Amazing family-owned daycare center. The new director, Kelly, is amazing! Erin l, the owner is spectacular! She makes sure that all of her staff is appropriately cared for and even treats us to lunch once a week. We really are a great team and work through every situation professionally. Also everyone here truly loves their kids and their class!
As a first time mom who has no choice but to work, I am beyond grateful that my daughter goes to Little Sunshines! The teachers there are so caring and amazing. My daughter always has the biggest smiles for her teachers and is eager to start playing. I highly recommend this center!
Id like to leave a review so nobody else like me has to go through what Ive dealt with in this daycare. Id also like to first state they are giving discounts on tuition for good reviews & making parents sign contracts on not speaking ill or derogatory about them. So i will make this as respectful but to the point as possible. My son loved this daycare he was there for about a year from 6 months old, the teachers have been amazing, & he has greatly benefited from them. If i could keep the teachers without the business itself, id be more than pleased. My family has had nothing but issues outside of the teachers unfortunately. When my son first started the owner was the director, she said she wanted his experience there to mimic what we do at home which is exactly what i was looking for. As time went by, there was less & less of this. “New policies” kept getting made and lots of problems arose. There were two times he came home with slight injuries with no report or notice, yes they are babies but as moms we all know we want & have every right to know what happened. They did apologize n explain he is a baby but thats beside the point. Thats the only issue that arose with teachers. My son was constantly sick here, and yes consistently in a non exaggerated way. They constantly sent him home, whether he was fussy, “missing mom”, sick. He spent more time out of daycare then in it, & of course i still had to pay which i was upset about.. but eventually i understood that im paying for “his spot”, doesnt necessarily make it fair to us parents. They started a policy where he cant come past 9 unless he has a doctors appointment, when he first started they only asked he be there by 9, it wasnt strictly enforced. He did move to the one year old room & schedules for them change which is understandable but i was told his experience there was going to be mimicking ours at home, we arent a family that has the normal 9-5 schedule but we still try to stick to that type of schedule for him as much as we can, but we arent the early morning birds & quite frankly neither is my son. We liked to get him there by 10 and considering it wasnt an strictly enforced policy to be there by 9, we thought it would be okay considering they want to mimic what we have at home. But this became an issue for them, and they created several new policies i believe because of this. During snow days this winter we had a whole week missed i wasnt informed of the Facebook page with updates on opening even after asking DIRECTLY to the director & after being told they would go off of francis howell district which wasnt true and so we stayed home, then were told later we owed late fees for our tuition which they stated i should of paid through cash app which i only used one time when he was sick & wasnt aware that was a normal option for it. Eventually i felt we were being honestly bullied a bit with all the new policies, and i just felt the business only cares for their money not the kids. I could go on and on but ill stop there. Lets just say, if your a mom like me, who speaks up for herself n her kids & isnt a normal 9-5 mama, this definitely isnt the place for you. REPLY: if there were no discounts on tuition for good reviews then please explain the multiple 5 star reviews made in December. I know for a fact what i saw, i have no business lying to good people who just want a good daycare to go to as i was also that person. Marijuana is also LEGAL & i highly doubt any complaints were made. And my son always had diapers & all of the supplies he needed until the last week of his attendance, my grand parents forgot to inform me, as we were all busy with moving. Ive also NEVER cursed at anyone, and especially not in the daycare foyer. My mom has never had any bad altercations with you all & my grandparents are older so i can not speak for them. Your attempt to make me out to be an unstable bad parent, like bringing up diaper supply goes to show the kind of daycare you are. I have not lied about a single thing.
My son has been attending Little Sunshines since he was 12 weeks old. I don't think my transition out of maternity leave would have been as easy without Little Sunshines. My son loves the staff - they are always updating me with photos and sending us home with the sweetest hand-made crafts. Erin's communication and responsiveness is excellent. Highly recommend this place for your tiny loved ones.
I'd like to share my review starting from my first attempt at contact with little sunshines daycare. I had called several places trying to find an open spot for both of my children. Several places never returned my call. The few places that did awnser, let me tell you they were rude. I have 3 kids so I understand taking care of children can be stressful. It still did not excuse the other facility's for treating me the way they did on the phone. The director Erin returned my call and was kind from the start. She invited me to come tour the facility and answered all my questions. Prior to calling this facility I did check out the reviews. The only negative ones I could find were mainly from uptight parents mad about silly things. At least that's my opinion. Their meal plan is great, they contact me immediatly if the kids are showing any symptoms of being sick. They also contact me immediatly if one of the kids falls and gets hurt. My kids love little sunshines. They learn different things all the time and have lots of fun there. The staff has been really kind and I think we were very lucky to get a spot at this daycare. I plan on keeping my kids here for as long as possible.
