As first time parents without the option to stay home, we had a really difficult time choosing a daycare for our 5 month old daughter. Little Stars was recommended to us by a coworker, and I am grateful every day that we chose to enroll here. The owners and teachers are extremely kind, patient, and understanding. I completely trust my baby in their care, and I was so afraid I would be unable to do that with a daycare. The infant teacher, Miss Erica, spends a ton of one on one time with each baby. We've already gotten two adorable art projects that they've done together! Also, the facility is very clean and I like their open classroom concept. I feel so lucky that we found Little Stars.
My daughter has been attending since she was 4 months old (when it was formerly Little Stars, Inc.) and she’s now 4 years old. Ms. Liz and Ms. Ginny are the BEST. They run a well organized center and my daughter has learned so much from every teacher there. My favorite thing is that it’s very clear they love each child and know each child so well. They really take an interest in every kid and I’m beyond grateful for finding this center 4 years ago. (I wish they taught elementary-high school so I could keep my daughter there forever, lol)
I have nothing but great things to say about Little Stars. My daughter attends this location and I have a friend who’s son attends the Kirkwood Highway location. My child started at 3 months and is now 15 months and is SO happy to go to school every day and loves all the staff. She’s loved it from the very beginning. They provide daily reports and each day is filled with fun, learning activities and time outside when the weather is nice. They do awesome arts and crafts and really give each child individualized care. The facility is clean and safe. They’ve worked with my child through all of her “issues”, lol and given proper guidance and discipline. I can’t thank Little Stars enough for all they’ve done and I highly recommend them to any parent looking for a trustworthy and caring daycare facility.
When my wife and I were looking for a daycare to place our young son, we found ourselves at something of an impasse, due to part to our experiences. She grew up in a home daycare ran by her grandmother, and appreciated the relationships her grandmother developed with the children that were truly loving. I attended a traditional facility based program that was more classroom-based and therefore better equipped in some ways, but far less personal. Most of the places we visited in Delaware fell firmly into one of these two categories. When we found Little Stars, it quickly felt like home. Ginny Cahill, the director, answered all of our questions with knowledge, experience, and care. Her mother is the director at the other location, located off Kirkwood Highway, and prior to that ran a home daycare for many years. The values of the home daycare experience shine through into everything Little Stars does. However, it comes tied with the manpower and resources of a somewhat larger program. Inside, there are classroom "pods" that have walls on three sides, but on the fourth corner connect openly to a center area. As a result the children and staff members are all connected as well, providing many opportunity for sharing experiences and friendship building. The teachers know all the students, not only their own. My son was enrolled at Little Stars for 3 1/2 years. The strong bonds that he developed with the staff members and other children could best tell you the story of how satisfied we are with this facility. He was well cared for and engaged throughout his time there, and will miss it significantly as he moves on to "big kid school". Both Little Stars locations are well-run, organized, and safe places to enroll your children. The teachers take a strong interest in the lives of the children, and better than most daycares, prioritize learning alongside play. I have trusted my son's well-being to them for quite some time, and will continue to utilize their service for needed vacation and in-service days. If you are looking for care for your child, I strongly suggest you check them out.
Both of my children have attended little stars the youngest since she was 4 months. The staff and owners are great and friendly and provide daily reports. Would recommend to anyone looking for child care
