What Parents Say
Little Star Learning Center receives highly polarized reviews ranging from 1-5 stars. Many parents praise the caring staff, cultural diversity, and their children's happiness and development, while others report serious concerns including staff insensitivity, inadequate supervision, poor cleanliness, and inappropriate teacher behavior.
Our son has been attending this daycare for nearly 3 years now. His teachers have watched him grow since he was a baby. They have wonderful diversity among the kids and teachers, and we love the cultural awareness. He loves his teachers and has made wonderful friends. They celebrate the holidays, and this past Halloween they did a little parade through the hallway. Adorable. The Staff is wonderful at working with us for any changes. Example, potty training had been a challenge for our toddler, but the staff pulled together to help us and focus on helping our son. We've made great strides. We are extremely grateful to have found such a wonderful facility.
When it was time to leave, my child didn't want to go, which I took as a positive sign. The day at the daycare was filled with joy, learning, and new experiences. It gave me immense peace of mind knowing my child was in such a loving and stimulating environment. This visit reaffirmed my belief in the importance of finding a daycare that not only cares for children but also nurtures their growth and happiness.
Our son has been going here since he was 3 months old. I felt it necessary to post this due to the most recent review. Some of the things the previous reviewer said are absolutely true. They do lose some of the kids clothes but they inevitably turn up later. They do run out of diapers often (which I see as a good sign because they are changing him often) he only comes home in someone else's diaper maybe once a month. However, my son loves going here and is always excited to see his teachers. He is 14 months now and we haven't seen one single sign of neglect or inappropriateness from them. You can tell when your child is scared of someone or feels uncomfortable about a place. My son almost jumps out of my arms to go to his teachers. Each and every one of them. The language thing is a small nuisance for myself and his mother but I love the thought of our child learning to exist in multicultural and diverse environments. I like the thought of him learning a different language no matter what that language is.
I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at Little Star Learning Center. My 2 year old daughter was attending for about a month before I started my 6 year old son there and she seemed to be doing okay there. But the center did not look the cleanest and the teachers didn't seem super attentive. Every time I walked by the infant room there seemed to be a baby crying and the teacher in that room seemed to be making no attempt to console said crying baby. Aside from that, my son hated it there from the day he started. His teacher, Ms. Jackie yelled at him for crying on his first day. Not only that, but they actually have the school aged children nap from 12-3 pm every day!! When I spoke to the woman that runs the daycare with her husband, she apologized, said they would speak with Ms. jackie about being more compassionate and that kids were allowed to color/read during nap time. But after another week there, and my son practically begging me not to take him there every day, I pulled my kids out. He mentioned several other instances of Ms. jackie yelling at them, and saying crazy/inappropriate/unfair things (told a girl that her dad was a maniac.....told the kids whoever slept during naptime would get a popsicle....telling kids theyll go to timeout for crying). Im very disappointed that they have someone who is so obviously not equipped to deal with children, being a teacher here. The day I made my complaint, another mom was there to complain about Ms. jackie as well. Huge red flag!! Bottom line....the facility is not very clean, my son said he saw a pincher bug while laying down for nap, and ants, the meals suck (butter & jelly sandwich for breakfast one day), and some of the teachers just should not have a job in childcare!! I have CCAP so i thought maybe this is what i have to settle for. But NO! There are much better facilities that will treat your children with love and respect. And with actual curriculums! Sorry Little Star, I gave you guys a chance..... :-/
My son has been going to little stars now for about six months. In the beginning it was pretty rocking this being my sons first time ever at a daycare and it wasn't a very good experience for about the first month. But after Ms. Nabila, Ms. Corima, and Johnny purchased the place my sons whole attitude changed. He is always happy when he walks in now he loves Ms. Nabila and Ms. Corima he is now is Ms. Lailani's class and he is doing very well. I love that my son is happy and that he comes home in a good mood. His speech has improved tremendously in the last month of him being there and I am so thankful for Little Stars being in our lives. I have also connected with these three ladies that I mentioned above and I appreciate everything they do for my little guy.
