What Parents Say
Little Scholars Learning Center has a 1/5 average rating across recent reviews with significant concerns about management, communication, and staff turnover. Parents report inconsistent care quality, lack of parent communication, unprofessional business practices, and enrollment issues. Initial positive experiences frequently deteriorated after key staff departures.
We utilized this center for before school care and two half day programs. We were pleased to see the pricing for morning care is lower than other programs locally. Unfortunately this is a case of you get what you pay for. This facility just seems very mismanaged. The owner takes Venmo as a payment option. On multiple occasions, we were asked to cover costs they incurred due to payment protection. I believe this is a cost of doing business that an owner should factor in, but paid the couple of dollars to avoid any problems. There were other incidents of the employees not communicating or just not having information they should. When asked what bus route from the school picked up and dropped off children at the center, not one employee could give me an answer. While I was able to get this information from the school I'm shocked no one at the center knows this information given every day multiple children are being put in and dropped off of the bus. On the half day program my child attended, I received an email asking for permission to take my son on a field trip (to the mall aquarium) that was happening that day. I thought it had been given in advanced and I had missed the permission slip, but it turns out I never received one. On the next half day program, my child was taken to the aquarium, this time without asking me or informing me in advance. While I was not overly concerned about the trip since it was in the mall, I felt as if they dropped the ball. During pick up and drop off, we were often not permitted in center beyond the hallway entrance into the mall. I realize COVID restrictions in many facilities try to limit the amount of people entering. This made me feel very unwelcomed and uneasy. This happened regardless of who dropped off or picked up our child. While each one of our issues with Little Scholars was relatively minor, the entire experience left us unhappy and we pulled our child from the program after only 2 months. Our child never had a complaint about the morning program, but he is much more at ease and happy at the new morning care program. That alone is worth the increased cost.
A daycare that gave my family a tour yesterday, says to come Tomorrow to fill out the paperwork and today all the spots are full. My family makes plans and my children so excited. The reason for the 1 star isn't because of just that. It's because ms. Ashley doesn't professionalism enough to be honest to my wife but instead had another worker crush my families hope of enrollment. Bad business and dishonest employees represent this daycare. That said I'm glad we were told that, wouldn't be able to trust them after that anyways!
Initially, they seemed like a good fit for our unique situation. The teacher was patient, compassionate, and understanding of our childs special needs. Unfortunately, that teacher left shortly after and from that point on, things seemed to go down hill quick. Communication became almost non existent, unless there was something negative to say. The teacher that replaced the first one was very abrupt and sometimes rude. Our child that once loved to attend, cried every morning because she no longer wanted to go. The last straw was when we were notified out of the blue, that they "No longer had availability for her", and that we would need to look for a new daycare.
At first we felt welcomed and warm with two teachers that made my infant feel safe. As time went on the ownership of this place and communication went down hill as teachers were continually leaving. The teaching quality is not the best. The communication to the parents was not the best and there was no security from early morning hours to late evening hours. I wish them the best, but we will not recommend telling other parents to join this daycare.
Takes deposits then calls and says then are under staff so they won’t be able take child. But then others call and they are doing tours to take in other children. Wouldn’t send a dog to this center. Think the state should be looking into this unprofessional place
