Little River Child Development Center

I do not normally write reviews because it's just not my style but I recently moved to the area and looked for weeks for childcare. My son always attended a child academy that I paid extra for but loved all the new things he was learning and the fact that he was always ahead of other children his age. There are none of those types of centers around here and had to settle for a single owned daycare and not saying they are all bad but have noticed they don't have the same high standards when it comes to the education of their staff. I found Little River CDC and thought it was very clean ( the halls are a bit tight to squeeze down) an amzaing outdoor area for the kids and the rooms looked very engaging for any child... heck I wanted to play in there lol.. Now for the bad stuff. My son has only been attending this center for a month and I am ready to take him out at the end of this week. I have him potty trained at home but for some reason they continue to say he wont go during the day and put him in pull ups all day everyday when I clearly made sure I packed underwear in his cubby. I like to know what he does during the day and when you ask they just say " he was good" nothing else, no take home sheet even though I have requested one more than three times and no effort in improving their communication with the parents. He used to do crafts all the time at his old center and bring home all kinds of cute things and he has yet to bring home anything other than a mothers day card since he started, not that they have to make stuff everyday but they should be doing some hands on activities during the week. I heard some of the teachers using a tone in their voice when talking to children in other rooms and on the payground that I wouldn't use with my my own child. Finally this morning when dropping him off, one of the teachers I could hear yelling at someone down the hall ( very unacceptable) then proceeded to use dirty language when walking away and right by me and my son who is 2 1/2!! Needless to say today will be his last day I can't even get into some of the other complaints! Don't let the nice play area and class rooms fool you because some of the teachers in there are down right ghetto and have no idea how to work talk with children! Clean up your act!
