Both my kids have gone there since my oldest was born 8 years ago. We've been so lucky to have found our forever daycare provider right from the start and I can't say enough about all the incredible staff, never mind the beautiful building, pool, playgrounds, events and all the fun seasonal decor! It is apparent how much time and effort goes into running LPDC. Maria and everyone truly makes us feel like family and I've never had a moment of worry about trusting my children here. Thank you all for taking such good care of my babies all these years!
My son has been going to Little Peoples since the beginning of 2021. He started daycare after I made a career change from working in childcare so this was his first time being cared for without me being a room over. The staff and director made myself and my son feel comfortable and made this decision easier as it feels like family when you walk in. My son struggled with some behaviors and a speech delay and received services through Early Intervention. It’s emotional hearing that your child is struggling in the classroom and some days I just felt I was failing him. Maria and all her staff were supportive and worked with my son. We had meetings and they had someone come and do an evaluation to see what we could do within the classroom and at home to help him. With constant communication and being able to have those hard conversations my son is thriving and doing so well! I cannot thank the staff enough for all their dedication each and everyday with the children in their care! They treat each and every child like their own. When they say it takes a village to raise your children they aren’t only talking about friends and family.
As a concerned parent, I am profoundly disappointed with the quality of care provided by Little People's Daycare. Their inability to meet the needs of my child, who they claim requires extra attention, is nothing short of distressing. Let me outline the reasons behind my dissatisfaction: Lack of Documentation: Shortly after enrolling, we were informed of our child's behavioral issues--such as giving raspberries and hitting others. Surprisingly, none of these incidents were ever properly documented or requiring any signatures. Autism Concerns: A month and a half into our child's enrollment, the director approached us abruptly, handing us a brochure and a card to contact a doctor for autism assessment. Keep in mind that prior to this, there had only been brief mentions of misbehavior. We sought early intervention, but their assessment did not align with the school's reports--mainly identifying some speech challenges. Unpleasant Meeting: During the same period, we scheduled a meeting with Little People's to discuss our son's behavior. Instead of a constructive dialogue, the director turned it into a courtroom scenario, warning us that if our child didn't improve, he would be dismissed at the age of 2.9. Uncomfortable Atmosphere: Little People's Daycare has made my wife and me feel uneasy. Our son has been unfairly portrayed as some kind of troublemaker. It's worth noting that they recently opened a new room to accommodate four kids due to staff shortages, even bringing someone out of retirement to cover. This individual, with 30 years of experience, claimed they had never encountered a child hitting others, taking toys, or attempting to climb furniture. Lack of Incident Documentation: Shockingly, the daycare fails to document issues when they occur. Our son would come home with unexplained bruises and cuts on his face, and the staff couldn't account for these incidents. Another student even scratched his face, yet no proper record was kept. In summary, if you're seeking a place to simply "dump" your kids without concern for transparency or communication, then Little People's Daycare might fit the bill. However, for parents who prioritize their child's well-being and expect professionalism, I recommend exploring other options.
