What Parents Say
Little People Academy receives mostly positive reviews with parents praising the staff's care, teaching quality, and child development. However, one detailed negative review raises concerns about communication between shifts, supervision issues, and management of older children's behavior.
My 3 month old son just started attending this daycare. I have not had a problem with his treatment but I do have a problem with poor communication to parents. Today, I found out they were closed!! I got no call or text notifying me. It was just a sign that said closed due to maintenance when I went to drop him off. I understand things come up, but this is supposed to be a professional business. You would expect more courtesy to parents who( if like me) don’t have the luxury to just be off work at the spur of the moment. Extremely disappointed!
My son has been attending this daycare for about a year now. The staff here are amazing!!! My son has developed so much and I know it's in part to the teaching and care he receives at this establishment.
They are disgusting!!! The place smelled like old diapers. And urine! Not one staff member seemed to be bothered by the smell. Everyone who were working there are rude and chilidish. I might as well have my 12 year old stepdaughter start babysitting. Theye don't change the kids often. I know because every time I picked my daughter up they would always want to change her. After I kept saying no I can do it when we get home then her diapers were soaked completely! It's a shame how they're even a business. NO STARS IF POSSIBLE!
I will give this daycare an easy 5 star rating. My son was switched to Little Peoples Academy after I found his old daycare being harmful to him in many ways. He has been attending for almost a full year now. He has grown a lot, learned a lot, and has been treated very well. I am very happy with the services provided and I will continue to use the facility for him and my child on the way. I now work for the daycare and I can vouch that things are up to par! I am satisfied to inform people that like this one, there are daycares that are safe! I see the terrible reviews and they are fully one sided. There will always be ups and downs to every situation and they all have multiple sides. I wouldn't leave my child under anyone else's care. As a mother of a delayed two year old and a new baby on the way, I full trust and respect the staff and care of this facility. I am very thankful for everything they do and how hard they try to work with each child! They offer a variety of foods that include vegetables, carbs, proteins, fruits, etc. and they work around allergies and picky eaters (such as my son). They have a good balance of play and learning time. My sons behavior has dramatically improved due to the structure and methods used to entertain and teach the children.
This place started out really nice, we were told all about how the teachers help with potty training, and the kids sippy cups were labeled and even for it being in a not so nice part of town the owner is amazing. But even still my children would come home missing their socks everyday. There is no communication between any of the teachers and no one ever knew anything from the day shift to night shift and vice versa. There was an incident where an infant was not fed all day, the 2-3 year old room was ran poorly, and the kids were always literally fighting and biting each other and the older kids room in chaos. All they do is let the older kids run all over the younger ones and never tell them to stop. They simply turn on the TV and hope they sit still and watch it. Ms D and Ayanna are great people but it is hard to control the chaos here. It is money well spent to go to the Lexington road location. It is much more organized and simply cleaner and nicer with more attentive daycare workers; I have had my children in a lot of places due to relocations and I would not take them back to this location. It is terrible that the staff treat Ms. D like a floor mat and walk all over her. Every time I walk in the door their is a parent going off about something or some situation that has them ready to pull their child. Over all I would give them 2 stars for effort.
