Little Lukes

Im convinced that the director Ty either doesn’t know how to do her job or just doesn’t care. My son was in the summer program when I found out his “lead” teacher was not a NYS certified teacher and she’s only a level 1 teaching assistant. I then brought it up to Hailey Delong (the “lead” teacher) as this was all at drop off, my son was yanking her arm while we were having this conversation so I had told my son to come stand with me. She then didn’t end this conversation as an adult and definitely not like a “teacher” would and walked away saying I’m not doing this. After she grabbed the child in the car that was behind me she still proceeded to walk away without my son. I then called Little Luke’s but supposedly Ty was out on a “family emergency”. This all happened Friday so I gave it till Monday and my calls are not going through at all. My husband then calls while he’s at work and what do you know? His call goes right through. He speaks with Ty who then told him she will be calling me that afternoon. I did not receive a phone call that day and here we are onto the next day with my calls still being sent to a voicemail and no call. Maybe all the other directors know how to do their jobs, but if Ty is the director for your child I truly advise you to just go elsewhere. There’s absolutely no communication, full of absolute lies, and clearly doesn’t know how to run anything.

I am, unfortunately, convinced the director simply does not work. My husband and I toured in April (this was supposed to be with the director, but she was not there) and were told we would have a spot in August. The director, Ty Darby, emailed me about a month later asking if I still needed care in August and, after I confirmed, never responded. I was led to believe we had a spot. I had been told when I toured to simply call 5 weeks prior to the anticipated start date to get things set up. To my shock, when I called to set up our start date, I was told all of the spots were full and that they would only hold spots for 2 weeks. When I asked for an estimate about when they'd have availability, they couldn't tell me. Once again, Ty wasn't working. I proceeded to call every day, at different times, for the next 2 weeks. I left voice-mails and messages with staff. Regardless of the time at which I called, Ty wasn't working. I then emailed Ty. It's been almost a month with no reply. Simply put, this daycare is running without a director. Thankfully, I'd also reserved a spot at a different daycare, but I would have been completely out of luck otherwise. This center isn't mismanaged, it just isn't managed. I can not imagine they are maintaining state standards when there is no oversight. It's, honestly, shameful. There is also no contact information available for anyone above the director, though I know there are people supposedly supervising her. I wouldn't trust this place with my kids, and I'm glad I was able to see their true colors before entrusting the safety and wellbeing of my baby to them.

My little guy thrives at Little Luke’s! Daily updates, tight but friendly regulations on letting people pick up or go into classrooms, willingness to adapt to children’s needs, events-always something fun going on. Excellent excellent teaching from lead and assistant teachers and your specialist are miracle workers-we get speech and OT and they are both over the top amazing.

The teachers and substitutes go above and beyond and always make my daughter feel welcome. They also have fun events for the kids, like music day with Mr. Len!
