What Parents Say
Little Linguists Decatur receives mostly positive feedback praising its Spanish immersion curriculum, small class sizes, caring staff, and strong academic preparation. However, two negative reviews cite concerns about administrative responsiveness, staff turnover, and inflexible financial policies during difficult circumstances.
My son began attending this daycare a few months before his first birthday. What initially drew me to the school was its Spanish immersion approach and monastery-based values. During his time there, I truly felt the staff were communicative, handled infection control and emergencies well, and provided a loving environment. The small class sizes were especially meaningful for my son, as he needed extra one-on-one attention, and he received that daily. For a time, we had a very positive experience. In 2024, due to personal financial challenges, I had to withdraw him and keep him home until I could find a more affordable option that offered a similar learning philosophy. After trying other programs that didn’t meet our expectations, I reached back out to reenroll him. I spoke with Sima and Xiao and completed the necessary paperwork and updates to make reenrollment possible. Unfortunately, during that process, I was involved in a major car accident that required surgery. I fell behind on bills and responsibilities, and daycare understandably became the last thing on my mind. I was also navigating an overwhelming legal process and struggling emotionally, which led to me missing emails and communication for a period of time. When I finally stabilized and reached back out months later, my experience was completely different. During the phone conversation, Sima talked over me and repeatedly emphasized how much work she had done to facilitate my son’s reenrollment and how I had not responded in a timely manner. I was not given the opportunity to explain what had happened or why communication had lapsed. The tone felt harsh, dismissive, and lacking empathy. It was strongly implied that my son would not be allowed to reenroll or that no accommodations would be considered. I followed up by email and never received a response. As a former educator and someone who works in healthcare, I deeply value compassion and understanding. You never truly know what someone is facing behind closed doors. While our initial experience was positive, the way I was treated during a vulnerable time changed my entire perception of the leadership. Because of that, I would not return or recommend this facility. I believe professionalism and empathy matter just as much as curriculum, and unfortunately, that was not reflected in my final interaction.
We have had a wonderful experience at Little Linguists. Our son enrolled last year and it has been a fantastic year. The teachers are so loving and their attentiveness to the children is outstanding. Spanish immersion has been a huge plus. I also love the community feel with special events throughout the year, which helps build great relationships with the teachers and other parents. Administrators have superb communication and are always planning fun activities for our kiddos. LLIP we appreciate everything you do!
We had such a wonderful experience at this gem of a school. Loved the language immersion, how quickly our kiddo advanced while going here, and how much fun he had. The teachers are warm and kind, the class ratio was great, and we loved our years here! Can’t recommend enough. Muchas gracias LLIP! ❤️
Our son was really unhappy here. On top of many other grievances, we come to find out that his teacher was fired or quit shortly after conversations. And we were then forced to pay out the rest of the school year despite our instincts that something was array and it was affecting our sons well being! VERY ATYPICAL practices that all lead to money loss and prioritizing finance over community and child well being. We have been to many schools in the Decatur area and the practices and understanding here were HORRIBLE.
One of my children attended LLIP for 3 years & now my other child currently attends. They love LLIP! The curriculum is robust & stretches their intellect. The children go into kindergarten above grade level , able to read, & write! The education & atmosphere at LLIP is worth the investment.
