We have two children at the school, ages 3 and 6. Both joined at 18 months. They both absolutely love going to school every day and have developed infinitely valuable life experiences through this program already. The teachers are top-notch, compassionate, and take the time to connect with each child/family on a personal level. It really feels like we've found a gem and a home here at LLL/MMP.
My career is researching and evaluating educational best practices and Little Learners Lodge/ Montessori of Mount Pleasant truly checks all the boxes for me. The teachers have multiple certifications in Pikler, RIE, and Montessori curriculums and methodologies that focus on nurturing a child who feels secure, autonomous, competent, and connected. The RIE knowledge and connection was especially important to me because it focuses on developing a respectful relationship with children from birth. I didn't discover MMP until my son was almost a year old, and as a result struggled to work from home while also taking care of him as no other program felt right. I'm so happy when/if we have a second child, that I will have access to that quality of childcare from the start. I'm over the moon that we have found MMP and that my son has loved every minute he's gone since last June. I love the support they provide parents (even during COVID) to navigate milestones such as toilet learning. I think it's also important to mention how long the staff have been with the school (and how many enroll their children) this a reflection of the quality and sense of community at the school. Starting during COVID has definitely been different, but they have done an excellent job taking all the necessary precautions to keep the school open and the staff and students safe.
Incredible school! We have two graduates of MMP and one still in the toddler program! The teachers are loving, kind, and communicative. A true Montessori experience that any child would be lucky to experience!
Our son has been there since he was an infant. What a treasure to spend his early childhood here! He is thriving in every way and where are so grateful for the care and attention displayed by the teachers. They embody the Montessori approach and wow what a difference! We also love the family vibe, fantastic parent community and appreciation for nature. Truly a fantastic school.
