On July 30, we received a notification through the daycare’s third-party application stating that our son had been sitting on one of their large blocks, moved it forward, fell, and hit his face on the carpet. The message indicated that his lip was swollen, his two front teeth had been pushed forward, and that first aid had been applied. We were advised to pick him up and to inform the directors if we sought medical attention. When his father arrived, our son, who has a diagnosed speech delay, had a swollen and bleeding lip, pushed-in front teeth, and appeared to have had a bloody nose. He was immediately taken to urgent care, where he was referred to the emergency room, and then to a pediatric dentist the following morning. The dentist determined that both of his front teeth were broken and required extraction. Our son looked traumatized following the injury and struggled to eat properly due to the pain. The extraction procedure itself was also extremely frightening for him. We were especially disturbed that: • We were not called by phone when the injury occurred (only notified through the app). • No emergency medical services were contacted despite the visible injury in his mouth. • We requested to view the video footage of our son’s incident in order to understand how he was injured and under what circumstances, but our request was declined due to privacy concerns. We were later made aware that, according to the daycare, its surveillance system is live-feed only, meaning no footage is stored. After the incident, we: • Spoke with the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), which we understand was notified as required after the daycare learned from us that we sought medical attention. We also understand that an official state report related to this incident may be posted on the Public Portal for Child Care Centers once finalized. • Filed a report with Child Protective Services (CPS). • Filed a police report. • Retained legal counsel. This review reflects our personal experience, which has been emotionally painful for our family.

Great downriver school. They have free preschool and the other classrooms are amazing. Their staff is great and the directors really care about kids.

My son started summer 2023 and remained for about a year after. He initially was enrolled because of his language delay and wanting to socialize him. This past year his speech has increased and he has created his first batch of friends. The teaches have always been so attentive and supportive especially during the rough patches with his behavior. If any parents are looking for a safe, supportive and loving school for your children please give this place a try! You will not be disappointed.

My 4-year-old went there from the fall of 2013 to September 2017, and my 3-year old went there from summer 2015 to September 2017. It was a great school with great teachers while they went there, and I have no reason to believe that's changed. The school is small enough where the teachers bond and truly care for the kids there, and the kids learn a lot. During 2016-2017 while my oldest was 3, they had him tracing letters and he learned how to write his first and last name. They do creative activities every day there. Long story short, your kids will learn a lot there, and they will get a great preparation for kindergarten, as well as establishing friendships with the other kids and teachers there. We left only because of a price increase, not because of anything bad there. After leaving, I missed the place, teachers and kids there. 9 months later, my boys still mention some of the kids and teachers they went to school with there. Since we've left, I know they've made improvements to the playground there. I'm not sure who all is teaching there now, but during our years there, the owners did find some truly special people to work there, and I have no doubt they've continued to hire the same types of people. Anyway, if the school is still like it was when we had our kids there, then I expect you'll be pleased with it.

Hands down the best center my child has been to. The teachers are caring and do an amazing job educating the children in their care. My child has been there for two years and both will be with Little Jungle until they begin kindergarten
