What Parents Say
Little Country Kids has received polarized reviews, with strong praise from most long-term families but serious complaints from others. Positive reviews highlight caring staff, outdoor play opportunities, and child development, while negative reviews cite owner Linda's unprofessional behavior, staffing issues, health/safety concerns, and state licensing violations.
My kids went here from 3 months until 6 years old. They enjoyed their time at LCK. Yes, sometimes things weren't done to how I as a mother would want them done, but nothing ever hurtful or harmful to my kids. Everyone has bad days and should be given grace if you feel your child is not being taken care of properly. All you have to do is talk to the workers and you know they truly care about the kids. Also you have to remember they have state guidelines they have to follow so it may not be how you want things done but they have to do it that way or they could lose their licensing.
We have been coming to Little Country Kids for almost a year with our 3 year old and we just enrolled our infant. My children are well taken care of everyday that they are there. We had toured other facilities before landing on Little Country Kids, and to be frank the other facilities seemed very school like and sterile compared to this place. I like that my children get to play outside and see trees, ride bikes and scooters. Other places had no natural materials in the their playing area which I found strange. My oldest son has grown emotionally and socially since being here. He always has been shy, but he loves Tracie and Michael very much. They have helped him get out of his shell little by little and I can't be anything but grateful for that.
Both of my daughters have been going to Country Kids since 3 months old. My now preschooler is in her last year and we're sad she is moving on to preschool but happy that our youngest will be attending for a few more years! Autumn, Michael, and Tracie are wonderful childcare professionals who have treated our kids with respect and kindness. We get projects put in their folders each week that our 3 year old loves to tell us about. We have never had an issue with the owner - she's fair and follows state law. So long as you abide by the rules and pay tuition, you won't have a problem. I've become friends with several of the past and present teachers there and have full confidence in them with my kids.
This was my old daycare. I made some friends. But some of the people that worked there were kinda mean..😣 Miss Lizzie was my favorite out of all of them, she was always really nice, even when she had to stay late because my dad had to work late. Other than that, I wouldn't NOT recommend this or recommend it. Because I got head lice from one of the kids. EWW
If I could give this place zero stars I would. If you’re looking for an understaffed, unprofessional, and dirty daycare this is the place for you. I wouldn’t send my child here if it was the last survivable place on Earth. Michael and Autumn are the only employees that care for the children. It’s not shocking that Linda, the owner, can’t keep anyone employed. She is honestly one of the most vile people I’ve ever met in my entire life. She’s unprofessional and don’t be shocked if she swears at you in front of your children. It’s beyond surprising that this place is still in business. I would urge you to research this and any daycare before you send your children to it. In reading about this place you’ll find tons for bad reviews and violations from the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Two of the most alarming violations to me is that she has 2 unqualified lead caregivers and that the caregiver to child ratio was not appropriate. With these violations it’s only a matter of time until something bad happens to a child in her care. I would urge everyone with children still in the care of Little Country Kids to find a new and safe place for your child and if anyone is thinking about using this daycare to reconsider. Also, you can look up daycares on the LARA Child Care Licensing Search through the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
