Good afternoon, everyone! Before saying what I have to say, I would first like to say that in no way, shape, or form would I falsely accuse anyone of something that they have not done. My child attended Little Angels Preschool and Daycare Center under the direction of Ms. Alicia Mathis. Two weeks ago, I told the 1 year old and under classroom teacher that laying each child’s bottom on a cloth changing pad without sanitation was unsanitary. She disregarded what I said and after repeating it again, she turned to me and said, “I sanitize this at-least three times a day.” I proceeded to tell her that it was still unsanitary and that she could put the new diaper underneath the child so each child’s bare behind wouldn’t be sitting on the table. She brushed me off and proceeded to use unsanitary practices. The director wasn’t there at the time so i was not able to address this issue as I seen it. The next day i received an oral statement from the director stating that I needed to find somewhere else for my child to attend because she was “no longer taking the child care voucher.” I asked multiple parents did they get the same statement. They told me no. Her excuse was that the state wasn’t paying her all of her money and that i still had a “copay.” She has never told me anything about a co-payment. And if mentioned, it would have been paid, without problems. I’ve noticed that every time I address issues that there’s immediate defense, and I am disregarded. Not once have I reported to the state what has been going on, because I have been trying to work with Ms. Mathis. I asked for a written statement, two weeks ago, from the director stating that she was no longer taking the voucher and to state that her last day of attendance would be on today, August 11th. I have yet to receive it and have been dismissed every time I’ve asked. Today, i arrived and she wasn’t at the center, just ironically at pickup time, on the last day of my child attending the center. Here’s a list of things I’ve addressed to Ms. Mathis and the reasons why my child is being dismissed from the center. Not once have i disrespected Ms. Mathis or any of her staff. I respectfully stated the problems as i seen it. 1. My child had a fungus rash on her from being changed on the cloth changing table without sanitation. 2. The children were being left unattended in the rooms without a teacher on site. I walked in, as infants were screaming to the top of their lungs, and the director was outside. The lady from the kitchen ran in the room when I walked into the room. I asked the cook why were they left unattended and she told me that it didn’t happen often. 3. There’s only 1 teacher in the room and it is supposed to be 2. She told me that she was hiring someone. Another time she told me the teacher to child ratio was met. It was not. I have also noticed that when it’s time for the state to come evaluate that she would hire a random teacher for a few days and then they would be gone. Strange. 4. I was leaving a bottle at the daycare and one day i asked to see it. It was yellow and milk residue was left in it. The bottle was sour. 5. My child’s shoes would be brown and so dirty leaving the center, and she doesn’t even go outside to play. I asked how often do the clean and the worker told me every Friday. 6. My child came home with a bruised forehead and no incident report was made. They didn’t know how it got there. I have also done research within the past week and have found out that babies are not allowed to sleep inside of swings. There are no cribs for the babies and if they are not doing tummy time, they are sitting in the swings all day. The pack and plays “cribs” are occupied by the older babies, who are no longer in swings.
