What Parents Say
Little Ambassadors Preschool receives overwhelmingly positive reviews highlighting a safe, loving environment with engaged staff and strong academic programs. However, one detailed negative review raises concerns about inconsistent quality between classrooms, potential bias in advancement decisions, inappropriate teacher behavior, and leadership issues under the current director.
We started at Calvary Hill Preschool in September 2024, and it has truly felt like gaining an extended family. Leaving your children in someone else’s care is never easy, but at CHP, you don’t feel like you’re dropping them off at a school — you feel like you’re leaving them with people who genuinely love them. Safety is clearly a top priority. The staff are attentive, hands-on, and very aware of each child’s needs. They are proactive about supervision and intentional about keeping every child safe, which gives us incredible peace of mind as parents. We currently have children in three different classes, and every teacher, aide, and even the aftercare staff have built real relationships with them. They know our kids, they care about our kids, and it shows. Our children are excited to go to school — even at 2 years old — and that says everything. Academically, they are thriving. Watching our 4 year old confidently write her entire alphabet from memory has been amazing. And as a working parent, the childcare app adds an extra layer of reassurance during the day. We are beyond grateful for the safe, loving, family-centered environment CHP provides. It truly feels like home away from home 🤍
My son is in the K4 class, this is his first school experience. His teachers and staff continue to work with him at his level and we have seen growth positive growth! The communication and daily pictures really make our day. Our son is always excited to go to school and even wants to go on his days off. He recently began library and STEM class which I think is a great addition to their program. Our son has high energy and the fact that they have a gym for these winter months for students to still get gross motor is wonderful!
Our experience at this preschool started off positively, especially in the K1 class when Ms. Mae was the teacher. She was deeply engaged with the children, ensuring that each student was learning through age-appropriate activities. With such a wide age range in the classroom from 18 months to 2.5 years Ms. Mae did a great job incorporating mixed age learning and making sure no child was left behind. Unfortunately, after Ms. Mae left, the quality of care and education in the K1 class declined significantly. The new teacher, Mrs. Noelle, appears to lack the experience and understanding needed for this age group. The environment shifted from being developmental and educational to more of a babysitting setup which was not what I expected or wanted for my son. My son has been in this classroom since he was 17 months old and is now 2 years and 4 months. Despite being told he couldn't move up until 2.5 years old, I noticed that other children who had not reached that age were allowed to move up earlier. It's deeply concerning that these decisions seemed inconsistent and potentially biased, as the children who moved up were not children of color. Behaviorally, my son is a typical two-year-old active, energetic, and, yes, sometimes a “pusher,” which is common at this developmental stage. However, instead of working with us on these normal toddler behaviors, the school especially the new director, Sherry often singled him out. Terms like "tackling" were used, which felt unfair and exaggerated, especially given that my son is physically larger than some of the younger babies in the class and tends to express himself through hugs and active play. Rather than offering understanding or guidance, the environment became punitive. Additionally, I have serious concerns about the classroom management. While Mrs. Noelle may present herself well to parents, there have been repeated instances of her yelling at the children, which is absolutely inappropriate for any early childhood setting let alone one that advertises itself as a Christian school. Sadly, since the new director Sherry took over, the organization, communication, and overall values of the school seem to have declined. What once felt like a nurturing, faith-based environment now feels disorganized and lacking in the patience and grace that should be foundational in working with young children. I hope the school takes these concerns seriously and reevaluates the leadership and support provided to both teachers and families especially in the early childhood classrooms. Sherry will not allow you to look at video footage either. I pray that whoever has kids in there at this moment that there kids are safe and being treated with support, love and encouragement. We removed our son and found a much better school for where he is absolutely excelling and not having any of those regressive behaviors.
After having a horrible experience at a different preschool, my friend recommended Calvary Hill and I could not be happier since our move! They took in my child with love and care and truly have been amazing since day one. My daughter went from crying about going to school every day to skipping down the hall once inside the building. She learned so much over the last year and truly started loving school. Her teachers make her feel so special and have been extremely patient and caring while she adopted to the new environment and learned that school IS a fun and safe place to be at! If you are looking for genuine care for your child, this is the place - trust me!
We’re so happy we chose this school! We have had nothing but good experiences here. The teachers and staff are so kind and patient and my child has learned so much from them!
