This general store must be like it was in the late 1800's when this was built. It looks like nothing has changed, except maybe getting your groceries there too. This is a beautiful store I could just look for days. The proprietor is 3rd generation of the original owner, he will tell you some stories if you have the time and he's not to busy. If you find yourself in Neversweat Wyoming take a walk back in time and go shopping at Welty's General Store.
I've shop a lot and I enjoy going into stores and seeing what they have in the store that I might need. I was excited about going to Welty's until I got there. First you're hit with a sign on the door that says, "Do not take pictures in the store." Why? Trade secrets? Then there were more "Employees Only" than I've ever seen in a store. There were so many don't s that I felt unwelcome and left. Not my idea of a customer friendly store.
Great hats. Wonderful customer service. Had nice Cinch jeans to fit my very tall husband. Love looking at the beautiful shirts & woolen garments. High quality. Open every day August until October 2022. Love some of the 1970’s dishes & other antiques. This store is an experience not just a cookie cutter store. Thanks for opening again!
Denied access because my daughter had her service dog. Her dog was lying at her feet as he yelled at us, called us names and told us to leave. Any attempt to educate him was turned down. He “did not want to be educated “. As we left he called us “black”. Definitely avoid giving this store any business
The owner Mr Welty is a great character. He has a lot of knowledge and great stories. Pamela speaks several languages and converses easily with clientele.. Over time this store has changed but there are still many treasurers to find.. Love this place!!
