Lincoln Recreation Center

The Lincoln Recreation Center hosted an incredible Day 1 Kwanzaa event that was both joyful and deeply meaningful. Kwanzaa, rooted in accountability and community, was beautifully celebrated with engaging performances that highlighted the importance of culture and connection. From spoken word to traditional music and dance, every moment was inspiring and powerful. I brought my game Motherland to the event to introduce it to others, and it was exciting to see the interest and curiosity it sparked. The energy in the room was magnetic, and I even found myself dancing during the celebration—and ended up on the news! It felt amazing to share in this communal experience, reflecting on the values of unity and responsibility while also having so much fun. The event was a perfect blend of cultural education and lively entertainment, reminding everyone why Kwanzaa is such a vital tradition. The Lincoln Recreation Center house this event, creating a space where everyone could come together, celebrate, and reflect on the principles of Kwanzaa. I’m so grateful for this experience and look forward to returning for future events. I had a few BARS ON THE MIC a few times. Highly recommend this center to anyone looking to connect and celebrate community! There were no boats, no snowmobiles, and absolutely no skis. Till the next journey my loves.

This is a very spacious location with lots of amenities. I hope to have a long great growing relationship with this center. The staff are friendly and helpful. The senior program is very informationally inspiring, and we have a lot of fun every time we get together❣️

The Lincoln recreation center is a great place for the community to get together it is nice and large with lots of great features. What attracted me to come to the center this day was Pastor John Calhoun with the Power of Love Church. it is amazing how welcoming this group is and how friendly that they are. Pastor John does a great job of bringing the word of God to life in a way that even eight and nine-year-olds can enjoy. My son Jacob enjoyed how encouraging that his delivery was.

This is my second year with CRC. Last year, I was at Hartwell Rec and they did not have a program this year. The Lincoln center is nice and well kept. It is in the downtown area which makes it easier for me and my child. We have only been at this center for a week but the staff has made us feel welcome. There is a pool here and an indoor basketball gym. There are signs up all over with events planned for the youth. This is a great place to bring your teens there are kids playing and interacting daily in a common area that it looks like it has been setup for their comfort. Overall, I am very happy I chose this center. I look forward to seeing what this Summer has in store for my family at the Lincoln Center.
