I have respiratory issues and I have been complaining about mold and instead of fixing the problem, she is sending the same contractors in here to put Band-Aids on it and not checking their work after they leave and when I talk to her, about changing this molded carpet, she says it’s only a year old. She can’t replace it so I am forced to breathe this toxic carpet with My breathing issues I have been in and out of the hospital Almost weekly My breathing is bad It is affecting my daughter and my pets health Not to mention, I got brand new furniture last year for Christmas December 2023 and it’s at the dumpster and she has To tell me it will cost money to replace my carpet

My experience with the Houston Housing Authority has been bitter sweet to say the least. Bitter, because I am appalled at the HHA and the apathy they personify when there's a situation concerning one's housing voucher and the agency refuses to inform you so a resolution can be adopted. There's been a number of occasions when my voucher was being stagnated because of a problem I was completely unaware of and the agency failed to inform me so that a resolution could be agreed upon. Sweet, because there's a silver lining ( social worker) in this dark cloud(HHA) Ms. Shanique Williams (VASH-SPEC.) has exhibited a level of professionalism that seems surreal. One would be hard pressed trying to find professionalism of such a quintessential degree in any bureaucracy be it city, state, or federal. I, unsurprisingly find myself in awe each time I solicit assistance from Ms. Williams. She is the difference between working for the "MONEY" and working for the " PUBLIC ". If social workers were to confront their duties and responsibilities with the manner and attitude in which Ms. Shanique Williams does then their perception of ɓeing overworked and underpaid would be " IRRELEVANT".
