Life Time Fitness - Troy

I’ve been a Lifetime member for almost a decade, and unfortunately, the experience has gone downhill. Membership prices continue to increase, yet there have been no good improvements or additions that justify the cost. On top of that, the gym is already overly crowded, which makes these issues even more frustrating. I’ve used the squat racks plenty of times while training sessions were in progress, and I am always mindful, never interrupting classes and only choosing racks that are clearly unoccupied and away from the group. This has never been an issue before. However, this one recent experience completely turned me off. A few squat racks were reserved for a training class, but MANY of them were completely unoccupied. I chose one that was away from the class and not being used, only to be told I couldn’t work out there because a class was “in session.” What made this even more frustrating is that after I walked away, another member, who was not part of the class used the exact same rack without any issue. If Lifetime is going to host training classes on the main gym floor, there needs to be better organization, shared access, or a completely separate space for these sessions. Members are paying a premium price and should not feel restricted or policed when equipment is clearly available. For what this gym costs, members should be able to use the facilities freely and conveniently. Right now, the value simply doesn’t match the price.

I’ve been a member at lifetime Troy for many years. I’ve always had a good experience but tonight topped it. I am almost 5 months pregnant and as I was working out, became very dizzy. I went downstairs to the cafe only to realize my wallet wasn’t with me. I asked Mary Ann, one of the managers if I could grab something and pay later. She was so incredibly kind-she took care of me immediately, bought me a shake and a banana. I’m so thankful for her and her kindness. Thank you!!!

Grateful for how close this gym is to my house but run so poorly by the GM. Friendly staff for the most part, but something is ALWAYS out (bags for a month, shaving blades, lotion, bath and body products, machines, etc.). A Couple employees themselves have complained from the GM being so cheap and arrogant. Being the first lifetime outside of Minnesota, it’s seems like it’s always the last lifetime to get renovations and amenities, I find out when speaking to friends and family. I will continue to come to this location but I hope it changes for the better.

The Troy location is greatly neglected and lacking in the basic service of cleanliness, towels replenished, personal hygiene products refilled. I'm there at 5:00 daily and the locker rooms are always dirty, and the lockers have not been reset. When I show up most of the lockers are already full and nothing is in them. The upstairs workout area is never reset – including picking up towel, water bottles, emptying the garbage and restacking the weights. This club is a disgrace. The general manager is in denial, misinformed or delusional if he thinks there is no problem. As a member of LTF for 25 years I know this is unacceptable standards that other locations would not tolerate.

The customer service here is horrible. I left my water cup there and they told me that they gave it to charity what a joke this place is a joke not only do they steal your things if they are left but they are rude about it Club Studio in troy is a way better gym with great customer service and they don't steal either.
