What Parents Say
This is a fitness center, not a daycare. Reviews praise the facility's cleanliness, staff friendliness, diverse amenities (pools, spa, classes), and quality childcare programs with activities like crafts and Spanish lessons. One reviewer noted evening pool access limitations due to swim team schedules and competitions.
Lifetime Fitness Commerce Township is truly top-notch! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels welcoming and family-friendly. The indoor pool is perfect year-round, while the outdoor summer pool makes warm days feel like a mini vacation. The spa and massage services are a wonderful way to relax after a workout, and the trainers are knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely invested in helping you reach your goals. I also love the variety of classes offered—there’s something for everyone, whether you’re into yoga, strength training, or high-energy cardio. It’s not just a gym, it’s a community. My friends and family always feel at home and relaxing here, and the balance of fitness, relaxation, and fun makes it worth every visit. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place that has it all!
I have a basic membership that previously allowed access to this location in addition to the Troy one. Compared to Troy, the only potential benefit here is the outdoor pool, but it’s honestly nightmarish. I tried it once and never went back. Think of those extremely overcrowded pools you see in videos from China, where it’s impossible to swim, and you’ll get the idea. Beyond that, this location has the same issues as Troy: mediocre cleanliness, very loud group classes happening right next to the machines because there are no dedicated studios for those, equipment left “under maintenance” for weeks, people wearing shoes around the pool area or swimming fully dressed, customers freely using handicap and family parking spots, and generally poor gym etiquette that is never enforced. I used to go occasionally to the Commerce location with my 4yo for specific classes, but I stopped after witnessing a kids club staff member constantly screaming at children for no apparent reason. I’m not a Montessori-style parent, and I fully respect how hard working with kids is, but the way she spoke to them is genuinely chilling. I’ve never had this issue at the Troy location. Today, I came on my own for a class for the first time in months and was told that my basic membership no longer gives me access to this gym. I understand that prices increase when a place is popular. Still, to me, the fact that so many people are willing to pay that much says more about how poor the overall gym options are in this area than about the quality of this facility. Or maybe people are just rich and don't care of what they get for what theh pay for. Aside from the family membership and daycare (which you stop using once you see staff speaking that way to kids) there are far better options for individuals. I actually keep a Planet Fitness membership myself on the side because it’s simply better for regular workouts: more flexible hours, cleaner facilities, less noise, and better machine availability.
Five star experience girls at the spa and cafe cx amazing from the hand, restore to the café staff going above and beyond, and letting you customize your drinks and making it into your liking, very satisfying. Coming over from the Bloomfield location the cafés that have really set the bar high for your Customer Service welcoming environment and willingness to just make it a good vibe kudos to the staff. Very cool how the women’s locker room has like a lounge sit down area with a TV Bloomfield definitely does not have that so that was kind of cool.
Hi this is (N Kasmarogi) I’m a member at the club, I was very disappointed today I have been going to lifetime Commerce location for years never had that happen to me before. After I finished, my workout, went to the locker room, (men’s) come to find out that my locker was Wide open and looks like someone had gone through my gym bag after I had set up my code to lock it. thankfully, nothing was stolen out of my backpack because I don’t keep anything valuable Such as money or anything else there, but still that shouldn’t happen. So when I approach one of the staff and told him about it, he didn’t seem like he care at all so I’m gonna have to reach out to the corporate and file a complaint They need to keep an eye out on who’s might be doing or did it. I totally understand that they don’t have any cameras in the locker room, but The staff are in and out all day long FYI, when I had locked my locker, there was nobody near me or behind to look at my code so I have no idea how my locker was open at the code of 5555 i also took some pictures. My question is to the management or corporate if your lockers are compromised and anybody can get into it you might want to consider making a new lockers that takes actual personal locks I’m having a hard time trusting your lockers.
Great club overall, but tonight the young staff who were folding the towels were using really loud inappropriate language. It was honestly unacceptable, not something I want to hear in a place like this. Also, it would be great if the club added a rule to stop people from doing push ups in the sauna.
