What Parents Say
Parents overwhelmingly praise Liberty Arts Academy for its caring, involved principal (Mr. Wald), compassionate teachers, and family-oriented environment. The school's no-homework policy, emphasis on play-based learning, and whole-child approach are frequently highlighted as reasons families chose or switched to the school. Multiple parents describe feeling like part of a family community and report their children love attending.
We started 1st grade after we found out my daughter’s kindergarten teacher moved moved schools. We specifically made the move for Mrs. Reed, first grade has been amazing, she is kind, supportive, and compassionate about her teaching and most importantly to the kids. The school's environment is welcoming and family oriented and the principal is very involved with his staff and the kids.
My girls have been going here and they love it and I love it even more with how caring the staff is and I just knew when I stepped foot Into this school I knew it was a school for my kids and let's talk about the principal he is amazing he cares so much about the kids and love how active he is with the kids and I love how caring he is with the parents my love for this school is so much. The no homework policy makes my life a whole lot easier and I get to enjoy my kids. Seeing how caring the staff is and the principal is makes me wanna work. I would recommend this school to everyone who has kids take them here. I LOVE THIS SCHOOL I don't know how much more I can say I love this school. Thank you for always taking care of my girls.
I cannot in good conscious reccamend this school. My child was here for 4 years total and one amin shift. The teachers are kind and will respond to messages, I got the feeling that the teachers themselves were wanting to help but obviously had other responsibilities. In addition to the school dropping to a D rating, there is a terrible issue with bullying here. Throughout the 4 years we were here, my child dealt with bullying in the form of your run of the mill verbal insults, threats, and physical aggression/assualt from other students many times. We attempted to work with the school every single time. Each time, I brought it to the staffs attention. Each time, the solution was the same. "We will talk to the students and staff." There was never any actual discipline utilized, and as you can guess, it only continued. We were told that staff would be made aware and keep eyes on the situation, only to find out when we followed up that administration never even told the staff about the issue. We ultimately left as an accumulation of no longer trusting this school to provide a safe learning environment and a serious incident that had no follow through at all. If you are looking for a school that teaches children appropriate consequences and boundaries with regards to bullying, threats, and physical aggression, this is not the school. And it is truly sad.
This is the best school you could find for your children my daughter has severe anxiety and at her previous school it just got worse as soon as she started at liberty arts with Mrs. friend as her teacher and Mr. Wald as her principal and him caring about her as a person and not just a number she has gained more confidence in her self, and her anxiety and confidence in her self has gotten so much better. I would recommend the school to anyone for their child.
I am a father of a recent 8th grader at LAA 2023-2024 and the staff was AMAZING but my son had a hatred for one teacher it was his science teacher and her son was one of the bully’s there and decided to make fun of my daughter(same grade as my son). He has made fun of her called her names and overall a bully. I would recommend just keep a careful eye on the science teacher. Her name was like Ms.Bloomberge or something I don’t know just not heard the best from her. My son also told me when kids would act up she would always befriend the kids causing the problems and never be on my son’s side. She also chose favorites in the middle school hallway mainly girls and she never took the boys side even if they were right. So yeah Ms.Bloomberge is in the past and we’re in the front. OVERALL LOVED EVERY MOMENT THERE!!!
