What Parents Say
Les Petits Francophones is a highly-rated French immersion preschool in Oakland where parents report excellent French language acquisition, caring and attentive staff, and strong academics. Parents praise the welcoming community environment, comprehensive curriculum with enriching activities, and the school's responsiveness to individual children's needs.
My daughter loves Les Petits Francophones and can't wait to bring her little bother to school with her. She's made huge progress with her French this year and we are excited for the year to come!
Our family highly recommends this pre-school! The teachers and staff are WONDERFUL, very caring and perceptive to the children’s various needs and there is great communication between staff and parents. The teachers speak English as needed, but most are native French speakers and emphasize this. English speaking kids acquire the French language in an easy and natural way. This is a great bonus along with the excellent academics, fun and interesting extracurriculars like yoga, dance, gardening and visits from petting zoos, etc. that this school provides. Our grandson attended the LPF program for 3 years and is now moving on to kindergarten. He is very well prepared for this next step, and we could not be happier.
I wasn't sure how my son would do with a structured program. He has a lot of energy and a hard time sitting still and participating in group settings. The teachers at LPF, specifically Ms. Darling, were so supportive and understanding. They worked with my son daily and were so patient. They gave him space to be himself and helped guide him to have healthier interactions with his peers. He gained so many important social skills at LPF, I can't thank the staff enough for what they invested in my son.
We joined Les Petits Francophones in September 2015 when our son was only 2.5 year old, attending only 3 days per week. He is now attending the school 5 days per week. His French vocabulary and comprehension have improved dramatically. The curriculum is very comprehensive, the school always has special guests, the teachers and director are definitely committed to the students and families. The students come from various backgrounds. The ratio children-teacher is small so it feels like our son gets the attention he needs. We highly recommend this french immersion pre-school is you are looking at an affordable alternative to other pre-school in the area.
Love the community, the kids, the teachers, and everything they do for the school. Son went here for two years and had wonderful francophone experience. Very welcoming environment.
