Leport School

All 3 of my kids have been or are still at Leport mandarin immersion and we love it here! My oldest initially started at another Mandarin immersion preschool nearby because they had an immediate opening and right away we felt that that school lacked a sense of community and had inconsistent quality of teachers. When a spot opened up for him at Leport, we took it right away and it has been the best decision ever for our family. My oldest child is now at a public Mandarin immersion school and is thriving academically and socially, which we attribute to the quality of teachers at Leport (big shout out to Yang laoshi). We feel that Leport provided a great foundation for him not only with his Mandarin skills but also with math and English. My younger 2 children are still at Leport and we have continued to see the same level of quality with the school. The teachers in the primary level as well as the toddler classes have all been great. The assistant teachers also help out a ton with day to day activities so the children are always well cared for. My girls love going to school and speak fondly of their classmates and teachers which I am so grateful for. Their Mandarin skills have also excelled a ton since starting here. Lastly, as a family who moved from the East Coast, having a sense of community was so important and we definitely found that here. The school hosts many events like holiday potlucks, family picnics, and also celebrates cultural events like when they brought in lion dancers for Lunar New Year which was so fun for the kids. Ms. Jackie (head of school) has truly been the heart and soul of the school. I appreciate when she reaches out to me personally about my children’s progress and how she continues to check in with me about any transitions that may be going on in the classroom. Needless to say, I highly recommend this school for families who want their children to have a strong academic and Mandarin foundation while also being in a supportive community.

I will start with the fact that neither I or my husband have any Chinese roots, we were looking for a highly rated Montessori school that could expose our daughter to a third language at the age where they are more likely to learn them. Well, this school has been just amazing in every way exceeding expectations, our daughter has been there for about a year and a half and is now able to have conversations in mandarin, (this is still mind blowing to me since she has no one to practice with at home), I sent her Audio to my international colleagues in Asia and they all say she sounds like a native speaker which is so amazing. It really helps so much the teachers speak to them in mandarin all the time, it is mind blowing to see her progress. The Montessori teaching style is wonderful and empowering for the kids to be independent and critical thinkers. It is beautiful how every game and activity is designed to have a practical lesson behind, even if it is “just playing” there is emphasis in being empathetic and emotionally intelligent with themselves and their friends. I love this school and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to broaden their kids language and skills in a wonderful environment of respect and learning. For reference my kid was 3 year and 9 months when she first started in Leport mandarin and she is now 5 yrs old.

We’ve had both of our children at LePort Montessori Mandarin Immersion and we have loved the experience. The teachers truly care about the students and are so warm, supportive, kind and patient. The Montessori environment is nurturing and calm while supporting individualized self-directed learning, independence, confidence and curiosity. We’ve been pleased with the school’s strong Mandarin curriculum and environment and have seen so much growth in our children. Additionally, the children are taught the values of respect, culture and etiquette. Communication with teachers and staff is also amazing. If there are any questions or concerns, the staff is always prompt about addressing them. Parents are also given regular updates during drills and field trips. We feel assured that our children are well-taken care of and most importantly, safe. We feel as if we not only have a close community, but a family. We highly recommend LePort Montessori Mandarin Immersion.

This school is excellent. Both of our children have been enrolled since they were 18 months old (now ages 3.5 and 6), and we've observed impressive progress in their development in a short time. The environment is specifically designed to foster age-appropriate motor skills, and the teachers are extremely patient, meeting each child's individual needs. From early potty training to providing emotional support, the staff consistently demonstrates the utmost care. Communication among the staff and with parents is very clear and open. If any issues arise, they are promptly addressed, and there is always a thoughtful plan for supporting students both at school and at home. Overall, teamwork here supports every child's development.

Both of our children go to Leport Mandarin school. The teachers are really caring. They make sure the children do their work well using the Montessori method. Every type of work is an opportunity for the children to learn. It is not the chaotic, noisy day care environment that I have observed from other school. I’m happy with the quality of care this school provides.
