We often take the bus up to the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House as my wife likes to take their exercise classes. The entrance is on 70th street off of first. Easy to find. They have a wide range of classes in the gym and they also have a pool and exercise room but with strict limited hours. Check the schedule on line before you go.
Went with a friend who scheduled a tour of the senior center and the main building. Ms. Lee was wonderful. Besides serving healthy and tasty meals for $1 or $1.50, delivering food to the housebound, having a pool, small gym, small computer room, and a number of activity and class rooms, they offer so many activities each month. Great that membership is free for 60 and over.
I've been a member for several years and highly recommend this place. It's a really superior senior center with facilities for swimming, exercise, numerous classes, performances, etc.
If I could give ZERO stars I would have. I'm a member of this place, but ,I'm never able to use the premises because the trainers never show up. Spoke to manager, but she doesn't cake either. Tax payer keep this place going but seniors can not use it. Rude people work there. It's a total shame. If you want to work out, and you are a senior, this is definitely the wrong place to come.
Horrible!! I asked a simple question on the phone which wasn't answered. I went there to ask the question again and I was interrupted 3 times. For someone who lives closeby, it is extremely bad customer service.
