What Parents Say
Laurelton Day Care School Age Program receives highly polarized reviews. The majority of parents praise the academic focus, safe environment, professional staff, and positive experiences for their children. However, a small number of recent reviews cite unprofessional management, declining quality, lack of teacher engagement, and favoritism.
My cousin and sister attended this school when we moved to Queens and they loved their experience there. My parents love the teachers and staff. Another thong that i love about this school is that they challenge their children academically and spiritually. Academically through different vocabulary books, as well as through a higher grade level book. Spiritually, by understanding God is the supreme almighty one and through him anything can be done. By challenging their children, may I also add they enforce discipline (with love) which is necessary in our society. I got to work here for the summer camp and it was absolutely a great experience. I recommend this school to parents who are trying to find a great school for their children.
I drove 80 miles a day and 30min out of my way from my job for my child to attend this school. Not worth your time nor money! This is a small community day care center that lacks diversity. This school had a great past reputation, but it is seriously declining and struggling. The teachers will not meet basic standards and only one that is excellent for your 1year old, Ms. Lisa. The one star is for her. The teachers don't interact with the children and will show your two year old videos all day. The director shows favoritism to her personal friends and seriously lacks professionalism. The office lady is ghetto, lacks education, and does not know anything about being a professional. The school does not uphold a mission and is cliquish. They will nickel and dime you. Change their hours and close early haphazardly. I will suggest you find another establishment for your child. I chose to not be anonymous because my assessment is sincere and I stand behind this review.
I would like to say that Laurelton Academy has been a very positive experience for me & my husband. As first time parents, Ms. Hughes, Ms. Deaka, my son Joseph's teachers (Ms. Deidra & Ms. Heather) & the chef (Mr. Mikey) have all been tremendous help in making us feel comfortable with leaving our son in their care. I called everyday for the first week around 12:30pm( the children's nap time), to check on my son & every time, they made me relaxed & at ease. We love the fact that there are cameras in all of the classrooms, you have to be buzzed into the place, & that you get a daily report. Just to name a few things that we love, even though there are far more, too many to list. This was our experience for the summer session July- August 2019. Their customer service & hospitality is fantastic & we highly recommend the academy to everyone. It's difficult leave your child in someone else's hands, but we feel totally comfortable leaving Joseph in their care. We look forward to sending him for the 2019-2020 school session.
Laurelton Academy is an excellent academic institution with a great Director and a group of professional and nurturing teachers. My son attended the school for two years and he is currently one of the top readers in his first grade class. His younger sister now attends the school and is having a great time learning, playing and being a part of the Laurelton Academy family. The school focuses on comprehensive education, catering to the academic, social and cultural needs of its students.
Excellent school the teachers are excellent, school is clean and great environment. Both of my sons attended the institution and are now excelling in their respective schools. My only regret is that it doesn't go up to 8th grade
