Lamar Head Start

My son went here from 2021 - 2022 and is now starting up his last year of preschool for the 2022 - 2023 school year. We love this preschool! My son had issues during his first week last year, not wanting to go to school and crying etc. But I set up a conference with me and his teacher and we talked it out and we haven't had an issue since! My son didn't like being corrected by another adult he didn't really know, but we were able to get him to understand her role and to trust her. His teacher was amazing! She would send me texts of pictures or reminders for the week-sheet we have to complete and bring back each week. If we ever had any issues, I contacted the school or they contacted me and we had follow up. My son has a speech delay and they work with him well. There are other children that have been in the class with sensory issues as well and the staff seemed to manage them wonderfully. Thank you Teresa Kraft for all you do!

Giving 1 star because I can’t put 0. First day of head-start of my niece and she was humiliated horribly!! While signing her in she asked to use the restroom and was denied permission and was returned with my sister. My niece asked again and stated she could not hold her urine anymore and still the receptionist (Minerva) did not allow her to use the restroom and said she has to be sprayed down with alcohol. Then my niece has an accident, receptionist asked if my sister had clothes to change her into (which she did but did not have other shoes), receptionist threatened to call the cops if my sister left her in the same shoes and my sister would get into trouble because my niece’s shoes would be peed, when the only reason she peed herself was because the receptionist would not allow her to use the restroom. Never again returning here! No kid deserves to be treated like this. Hope you are reading this before enrolling them here because if they treated my niece like this IN FRONT of us, I can’t imagine how they treat the children.
