The Lakota Y is a clean gym with new equipment and everything you need whether you are a new or experienced lifter. The functional fitness room is an added bonus. We also love the sauna and pools. When my kids were little they loved the staff in the child watch area and fun play land. My family has been a member for 18.5 years.
Our family enjoys this Y location. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I can tell that the folks behind the welcome counter enjoy working with each other. Sara, the swim lesson director, is competent and explains our children’s progress. They do a great job updating members via email on changes to the facility or schedule changes. Only piece of constructive feedback would be to update the pool area some. That won’t hinder me or it shouldn’t hinder anyone from joining here because the pros way outdo the single con. Keep up the good work! We love our local Lakota Y.
I am so happy to be a part of the Lakota Family YMCA! It is a lovely facility inside and out! (The outside pool area is great!) This “Y”truly exudes a family atmosphere and they welcomed me from the first day. I am involved in their exercise classes now which I highly recommend! They are fun and I’m feeling so much better now. It is a joy to go there and I’ve met many friends who are all eager to make you a part of their family! I can say without a doubt that I am enjoying this “Y” more than any I have belonged to.
I absolutely love the YMCA! The staff are so warm, welcoming, and always go out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable. You can tell they truly care about the people who come here. The Child Watch staff are top-notch — my kids adore them! It gives me such peace of mind knowing they’re in safe, loving hands while I work out. That time to focus on myself, even for an hour, means so much when mom life feels nonstop. The Y is affordable but still amazing quality, and it really feels like a community, not just a gym. I’ve met so many kind people here, and it’s become my happy place — my reset time from the chaos of daily life. I appreciate the YMCA so much more as an adult than I ever did as a kid. My kids love it, I love it, and I tell everyone to join because it’s truly made such a positive difference for our whole family!
I love taking Judie’s classes upstairs and the ladies at child watch are wonderful with my daughter. The facilities are clean and the gym has all the equipment I need to get in a great workout. We also enjoy the pool as a family. We are happy to belong to our neighborhood Y!
