Lafayette Nursery School

It's such a warm and welcoming environment. The teachers are non-judgmental and supportive of both kids and parents, and it's clear they genuinely care about each and every child. When you work in the classroom, it's so nice to get to know other kids and see your child in action. Beyond that, it feels like the school is built for families, not just kids. Having purpose in the classroom connects you to other parents in a way that doesn't seem possible anywhere else. Housekeeping days, fundraising events, parent education, school participation at city events...they all help us feel like we're part of a community.

I highly recommend LNS! Both our kids attended all three classes and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. The teachers are warm and caring and have a wealth of knowledge and wisdom when it comes to toddlers and early childhood. Our family loved the school and community we formed from our time there. If you’re curious about a co-op I would check it out!

As my third year of attending comes to a close, yes I attend too since it’s a co-op, I’m realizing how thankful I am to have chosen to enroll. Not only has my daughter found such a positive nurturing environment, I learned how to be a first time parent. I would highly recommend a tour if you are looking for a similar experience.

I am so glad we found Lafayette Nursery School for my son, who is starting his second year of preschool there. LNS is a wonderful, nurturing co-op preschool and has been the perfect fit for my three year old. The teachers have years of experience and work very hard to provide a wide range of learning experiences for the children. I am continually impressed by their creativity and dedication. LNS has a great system for orienting new parents and making you feel like part of the team right away. I love being in the classroom on my co-oping days to take part in my son’s experience.

Lafayette Nursery School has been a wonderful preschool for our family. I’ve sent two daughters and will send my son when he’s old enough. The play based philosophy really helped my oldest daughter learn to solve problems on her own and has set her up to love learning. Because the parents help run the school, the sense of community and support is very strong. I got more than a dozen meals delivered after the birth of my son and am happy to be returning the favor this year. The Directors and the Board do a good job of providing parent education and I have become a better, more patient parent because of that. I recommend LNS to anyone who wants to be involved in their child’s education and be connected to a wonderful extended family.
