What Parents Say
LAC+USC Employees' Children's Center receives uniformly negative reviews citing serious concerns about staff professionalism, supervision, and child safety. Parents report poor communication, unprofessional director behavior, staff disengagement, and in one case, alleged physical abuse of a child resulting in a DCFS investigation.
Im not the one to put bad reviews, but I had to say something in regard to this center. I had my children for a year in this center because their school schedule was perfect for my work schedule but there was a lot that happened in that school. I saw a lot of bad and good things but I kept my mouth shut, I didn't want to file a complaint and have the teachers go against my kids and treat my child less than the other children. Some of the staff in this facility have been incredibly friendly and helpful from the very beginning, we thought. I’ve seen teachers have attitude towards the parents. They never smile, some have strong voice (it sound like they were scolding the kids) and others are just quiet like they don’t want to help the parents out. When we inquired about the center and took the tour we knew that this was the perfect center for our children or so we thought. The director made it seem this center is an outstanding facility when is not. Teacher’s wouldn’t greet us and ask how our day was. Both females and males teachers were always on their phones with their EarPods. Licensing was always going to the center I don’t know if it was a check up routine or something else. It saddens me to think that I put my kids in this school not knowing the type of teachers and directors they have. Another thing, I’ve witnessed many meetings where the directors have with the staff outside the yard. The directors we’re so loud making the staff cry! They don’t know how to talk to the staff I can just imagine how they treat the kids too. They sure know how to put a fake smile and praise the center.
As the school year comes to an end for my child I want to share my experiences with this center. I had both of my children in this program everything was so great one of my kids graduated last year. My kids loved their teachers. Until we had an encounter with one of the teachers. We tried fixing it. The fact that both directors didn’t do much made the situation worse. One of the directors was new to the center I thought to myself “maybe since she’s new she doesn’t know how the staff are” i gave her the benefit of the doubt. Throughout the year the director was just not doing her job every time I would try to look for her she was never in her office, it was really frustrating how there was never great communication between the directors. This new director didn’t look at us in our face when we would talk, she was always looking down and let the other director talk. That was unprofessional of her. She couldn’t do her job properly. The morning teachers are so lazy they would NEVER greet me only teacher Sandra. Every time I would have a question regarding my kids this teacher that works in the TK room she wouldn’t give me enough information about my child, her answers were always “I Dont Know I’ll talk to the other teachers” “I’ll let the directors know” “go talk to the director about your concerns” this school was so unprofessional with their staff, they never knew anything. I’m happy my kids are finally out of there, i will for sure not recommend this school to anyone. 👎🏻👎🏻
I use to have my child in this center. This center is horrible some teachers are nice and patiently with the children. They have lack of supervision. I had to pull out my child from this center. The director was always on her phone from dropping off my child till picking my child up and she was always sitting down on her desk. My c
I did not like the way Teacher Ana treated my son. My son had challenges during nap time and her response was to hurt my son. My son was bruised and had red marks at the bottom of his foot. I took my son to the hospital where DCFS case/investigation was open. I removed my child from the child care and every time we passed by he would cry of fear. My son had nightmares at night and wouldn't let me take off his socks due to his experience at the daycare. This incident occur in 2017.
They took 10 hours to help my baby and another 10 more to get a Uriel test
