What Parents Say
Parents consistently praise La Petite Academy/Muk Spd for its caring, professional staff and nurturing environment. Children are reported to be happy, safe, and engaged in enrichment activities. One parent noted gaps in communication and parent-teacher conferences.
When the previous director, was at La Petite Academy in Mukilteo, the environment felt positive and supportive. Staff appeared happy, engaged, and genuinely cared about the children. Since the previous director Jessica left and the new director, Sandra, took over, the quality of care has noticeably declined. Its clear that the director has favorites, which in my opinion is unacceptable.I personally have also heard staff talk about feeling overwhelmed and stressed because they dont feel supported. It is such a shame that the amazing team that was there when my child started is slowly leaving. I have personally felt very unhappy with the care provided since the leadership change. The director often appears angry and unapproachable, and I have witnessed her being short and snappy with staff. This kind of leadership creates an uncomfortable environment and directly impacts the children and the classroom experience. I am also aware of instances where children were left unsupervised in classrooms, incidents that were not reported by the director. This is deeply concerning and unacceptable in any childcare setting. Most recently I was informed I needed to pick my child up early because the power was out. The power was on within a short time as confirmed by businesses in the same business plaza but we still had to keep our children home causing me to have to miss a whole day of work even though power was on shortly after that. Due to fear of retaliation from the director or upper management, I am choosing not to include my name. However, I feel it is important to speak up for families who are trusting this center with their children. I am on as many waitlists I can be on in the area to get my child out of this toxic environment. Overall, I would give this school zero stars for cleanliness, curriculum quality, and kind, professional leadership. I only gave one star because it is required to leave a review. I strongly recommend thinking twice before enrolling your child here.
We had a wonderful experience with this daycare for our preschool son. The teachers and directors are truly caring and professional. They were especially understanding and supportive during a difficult time for our family, which meant so much to us. My son loved going every day, and we always felt he was safe, happy, and cared for. I highly recommend this daycare to any family looking for a nurturing and supportive environment.
The staff have been amazing here . My son is currently in the infant room and the teachers there are really sweet. My son always has a smile on his face when he’s sees them. The director is really friendly & bubbly.
Be cautious in sending your babies here I had my child there from 2017-2020, its was fine at first with certain teachers I got to know, then after my child move over to other classroom the teachers was not inviting. When my child got to Becky classroom, I didn't like what she did I tried to tell the assistant director Patty, but she brushed it off after that I stop taking my child.
I would not recommend this location. The director is rude and extremely inconsiderate. When we had issues with the staff, they never made adjustments. At times when we would voice our concern, the director would just make excuses. At points it seemed that they were retaliating against our child after we brought up our concerns. The teachers seemed lazy, and they didn’t flow the schedules or curriculum that we were told when we admitted our child. Their level of cleanliness is suspect at best. If you care about your child’s growth and development take them to a different school. If we had the option to give zero stars we would.
