La Fitness Kids Klub @ Decatur - Covington Hwy

I genuinely love working out here, but the facility's cleanliness has become a major concern. There is a noticeable, unpleasant odor the moment you walk through the doors, and the cardio machines are often visibly dirty. While I want to give a huge shout-out to the staff member who works evenings—he clearly goes above and beyond to keep things tidy—the equipment has reached a point where it needs professional steaming and deep cleaning to be sanitary. I’d love to see the gym invest in the upkeep it deserves. Furthermore, the maintenance of basic supplies is lacking. Earlier this week, there were no disinfectant wipes available on either the ground or upper floors. Management needs to prioritize hygiene by adding more wipe stations and ensuring they are consistently stocked. I hope to see these improvements soon so the gym can return to being a clean, comfortable environment for everyone.

Long-term member (9+ years) and this was disappointing. At the Covington location, the men’s restroom was being cleaned during peak hours, with staff confronting members who were simply trying to use the bathroom. Management shared that cleaning schedules exist, but this occurred due to staff availability rather than member traffic. Cleanliness matters—but so does respectful communication and consideration for members’ time. I’ve never experienced this at other LA Fitness locations. Hoping for better scheduling and customer-service training moving forward.

i have worked out at at least 10 la fitness locations in the Atlanta area. I would like to recognize 3 outstanding people. Lauren, Byrd and Quan. i had a discrepancy with my account and they all handling it with compassion, quick action and care. I've been going to this location for 10 years and this has been the best staff yet.

The lack of security at this gym shows the organization's negligence in protecting its members. On Friday November 29, 2024 after an altercation on the basketball court gun shots could be heard from the gym's parking lot. On December 21, 2024 there was an auto break-in that resulted in property damage to 3 vehicles and a firearm being stolen. This adds to the long list of crimes that have been and continue to be frequently committed on this property. Fitness International and/or franchise owners are not doing enough to protect its paying members. Even the security cameras that are installed on the building are useless because they do not provide playback. Without security I am afraid something more drastic is going to occur on this property. I am sure this is not the only LA Fitness location that could benefit from security. As members of this location we have to demand impactful change.

The staff here is friendly, courteous, and polite, which I really appreciate. The gym is also fairly well-equipped overall. However, it’s lacking kettle bells, and the cardio equipment—especially the stair masters—are filthy and give off a strong odor. The overall facility feels unsanitary, and the cleaning crew seems to do the bare minimum. Doors, mirrors, and glass surfaces could definitely use more attention. With such a great team in place, it’s a shame the cleanliness and maintenance don’t match the level of service.
