I started training at the Korea-America Taekwondo academy early 2018 when I was seven, almost eight. That was roughly eight years ago now. Mrs Kathleen Martinez is one of the most incredible people I’ve ever met, and I truly would not be who I am today without the Martinez family. One of my favorite things about Korea-America is that they don’t just teach the art. They make it a point to teach the students that taekwondo is not just cool moves, it’s a way of life. It’s about having integrity, kindness, confidence, respect.. the list goes on. The growth from practicing taekwondo does not stop when you leave the studio. Whether you or your child comes for three months or thirteen years, the material they learn at the Korea-America Taekwondo Academy will stay with them for the rest of their lives. I’ve been blessed enough to teach at the studio, and the list of things I’ve learned from the experiences I’ve had there is endless. Of course, I’m able to tell you this from personal experience, but even someone who’s only ever seen one class can tell you the Martinez family truly cares about every single student who sets foot in the school.
