Kinhaven is a terrific preschool. The quality experience there starts at the very top with outstanding leadership from its Executive Director. All 3 of our kids have been enrolled and educated at Kinhaven and I can say with a great deal of confidence that the educational and social experience our two oldest boys had there excellently prepared them for elementary school. We highly recommend it.

Kinhaven is an incredible pre-school. I can't say enough good things about them. We've been going there for 3 years now. We got to know Kinhaven when we enrolled our (then) 4 year old in a a Summer Camp; by the end of that summer we were convinced we needed to be part of that community. What impressed me the most (and still impresses me today) is how much the teachers, the Director and the Office Manager care about the kids. The Director (Amy) is truly amazing and the Office Manager (Myra) just rocks. They are a dynamic duo and run that pre-school so efficiently. The teachers are always so sweet to the kids and you can tell they really enjoy their job. Our 3 daughters absolutely LOVE everything about this school. My two oldest have the best memories from their time at Kinhaven and they still get excited when we have to attend events there for their little sister. One of the best benefits of going to Kinhaven is its strong sense of community. Parents here remain friends even after their kids leave school. You will love this school if you are a stay-at-home mom or if you work full time. There are plenty of opportunities and fun events to get to know other families. Families help each other when new babies are born or if someone is sick. It is truly an amazing and friendly environment.

Kinhaven is an amazing school. All three of our boys have gone there and I don't think there could be a better place for them to grow and learn and play. Their play based philosophy meshed so perfectly with my own parenting philosophy and all of the teachers did such a good job setting the stage in each of their classrooms so that the learning that all of the boys did as they played was really a wonderful thing to see. The play based approach also created a very flexible learning environment which enabled each of them to excel at their own rate from everything from reading to social interactions. The parent based co-op offered a wonderful opportunity to connect with other families, which we particularly enjoyed because we're military and so came to Arlington without a network. Could't have been happier with our experience that. I would recommend it to anyone.

I highly recommend Kinhaven Preschool! We are a current Kinhaven family— my son has attended for 2.5 years, and my daughter started in September. I’ve been so grateful to watch both of my children bloom and thrive in Kinhaven’s warm and nurturing environment. I’ve had experiences with a wide range of preschools within Arlington and beyond and nothing can compare to the care, community, and rigor of Kinhaven. We’ve love the play-based structure, intentional cultivation of the school community, small class sizes, emergent curriculum, and the expertise in early childhood education that all teachers and staff bring. Kinhaven feels like a warm hug for all involved and the teachers bring their full selves, meeting each child where they are at developmentally and socially. I’ve also appreciated Kinhaven’s approach to anti-bias education that rings through their curriculum, approach to family engagement, and the love and care that all families receive. I feel like my kids are getting the best foundation possible, which will allow them to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.
